Paracetamol for children

Among all medicines, Paracetamol is the most common drug in the world. And today Paracetamol is often given to children, starting from the first days of their life. But there are very good reasons for this. Firstly, this drug is quite safe and quite effective, and secondly, it is freely available (in pharmacies it is dispensed without a prescription).

"Paracetamol" is very popular in the treatment of children. Mainly, because children get sick often enough, and the drug has such an action that helps to eliminate the most important and obvious symptom of almost any childhood ailment - temperature.

Certainly, parents experience, like no one else, for their child. But, despite the comprehensive, often superfluous, custody of the baby, he still sometimes gets sick. And in this situation, the parents are in a hurry to take measures for the speedy recovery.

First of all, they are in a hurry to give "Paracetamol" to children, in order to lower the temperature. But it should be remembered that treatment of children should be treated with particular caution. Moreover, in pediatrics, the attitude towards Paracetamol is somewhat contradictory.

Mainly, it is necessary to remember that the body must fight against the disease independently, especially if it is a question of viral diseases, such as ARVI and others. After all, in the first place, the mother's answer to the fever in a child is precisely an antipyretic.

And where it says that the increase in temperature must necessarily be knocked down by any available means? This issue has been thoroughly studied by scholars from all over the world for more than a year. And it's not about even that "Paracetamol" children are strictly forbidden to give to children, but, in general, about febrifuge.

So, in the UK scientists are opposed to any antipyretic agents, because the temperature of the child is a protective reaction of the body. But, of course, in certain situations, under the supervision of the attending physician, the use of these drugs is necessary.

In addition, it is proved that infants and toddlers who take during the disease "Paracetamol", risk to subsequently develop asthma or eczema. But the experts put emphasis on the fact that until now it has not been clarified what exactly this result brings: the medicine itself or the direct drop in temperature.

Also during the research, scientists have proved that if Paracetamol is given to children in the first years of their life, then there is an increased susceptibility to conjunctivitis and various allergic reactions. Even experts in such cases recommend resorting to folk remedies. But the main thing here is not to overdo it.

It is often appointed "Paracetamol" in tablets to children, the dosage of which depends on the weight of the child. As a rule, in such a medicinal form, "Paracetamol" is recommended for children older than 6 years. The average dose is 10-15 mg / kg. The usual tablet should be washed down with a large amount of liquid, and an effervescent tablet (from 15 years old) - dissolve before direct intake in 100 ml of water.

In addition, this drug can not be taken more often 4 times a day. In the event that the fever returns before the 6 hours after the use of Paracetamol, the temperature should be normalized by some other means.

And if during three days the fever does not go away, you should definitely contact a specialist to find out its causes, prescribe a more effective treatment and exclude the possibility of any serious ailment.

"Paracetamol" for children in tablets, the instruction of which is intended only for acquaintance with the properties of the drug, should be taken only after the appointment of this remedy by the attending physician.

It should also be noted that, despite the fact that "Paracetamol" is used by children of all age categories, up to 4 weeks of life (during the neonatal period), its use requires careful special dosing. In addition, dosing and use of the drug should be carried out under constant medical supervision.
