How to make a hedgehog suit with your own hands? Carnival costume hedgehog

If the kid participates in a theatrical production and he urgently needs a hedgehog suit, the parents have only three ways out of this situation. You can rent suitable carnival clothes. You can buy a complete set in a specialized store. And you can sew a children's suit hedgehog with their own hands.

Selecting an image and preparing for work

If it was decided to make a hedgehog suit with your own hands, first you need to think through a common design and sensibly assess your capabilities. If you have a purchase kit, but it does not like or does not fit, you can modify it a little. The costume can consist of a ready-made overalls, decorated with soft or cardboard needles, caps and additional attributes such as apples, baskets, autumn leaves. More experienced seamstresses can prepare clothes for a hedgehog from scratch, carefully cutting out a jacket, panties and a shirt.

We suggest to consider several options for creating such a kit. The first method will suit even those who can not sew at all. To create a design image you will need a sewing machine, skills of similar work and some additional materials.

Preparation for work

Before you begin to make a dress, you need to consider several points:

  • Toddlers are very mobile, so it's worth to refuse from heavy and cumbersome costumes;
  • If there is a suit or pajama suitable colors, it is worth using ready-made clothes, making only accessories and "fur coat";
  • Sewing is easiest of soft non-friable fabrics, for example, thin fleece or plush;
  • Except tissue, basket, apples and mushrooms, to create an image will require a special make-up, safe for children.

If a suit is needed for a girl, then instead of panties and overalls, you can sew a simple "peasant" dress with an apron. Then the fur coat of the future hedgehog is fixed on the cloak and complemented with a prickly cap.

Creation of a headdress and needles

You should start making a hedgehog suit with a special cap. To do this, you need to take an old, but suitable for the size of a cap or panama child. If a baseball cap was chosen, it is necessary to cut off the visor from it if the cap is to separate the fields. It is necessary to prepare a piece of cloth with an area of about 50 cm 2 . The color is selected in accordance with the conceived shade of the costume. It can be gray, black, brown or terracotta fabric. The fabric is cut into rectangles three to five centimeters wide. Each such workpiece must be cut across, not reaching the edge somewhere 0.5 cm. The resulting parts are folded in a triangle and fixed with an iron - these will be future needles. The spines are sewn in a circle, starting from the very bottom of the cap, while the thread must pass through the "uncut" 0.5 cm in the middle of the rectangles. On the top of the headdress, a few more needles are taken, made one by one in the element.

Muzzle of a hedgehog

From a lighter fabric, a cone is cut out and stuffed with a sintepon or ordinary cotton wool. Also, any fabric pruning and knitting thread, cut into small pieces, will do. To the finished cone, sew a nose, embroider a mouth and attach eyes. If the hedgehog suit is carnival, you can add a little sparkles or rain. The ready muzzle should be swept to the cap with needles (on the front side).

The main advantage of this costume is its mobility: it's very easy to take off and put on this outfit. It will not be necessary to wear the baby for a long time in the bulky elements of the outfit, for fear of tearing off any detail before the matinee. By the way, this way you can make muzzles for any little animals: foxes, wolves and bunnies.

Hedgehog suit - decoration

If desired, the dress is decorated with autumn leaves, artificial apples, pears and mushrooms. The simplest version of such finishing is fruits and vegetables, drawn on cardboard and glued, and better sewn to a hedgehog coat. You can give the baby a basket with plastic apples or mushrooms made of papier-mache. To create light enough fruits, use expanded polystyrene - this is a very dense foam that is used to strengthen the walls. All the elements are cut with a usual penknife or clerical knife, and then simply decorated with acrylic or gouache paints. To make it more believable, you can paste real tails from apples. Next, the fruit is fixed on needles and fur coats and caps with silicone glue.

Complex variants of the carnival costume

If you have free time, experience in cutting and sewing, as well as at least a small budget, allocated for festive clothing, a hedgehog suit can be sewn from scratch. To do this, you need a suitable cloth for overalls and a hood-hood. A pattern is created on the basis of the ready-made clothing of a child, suitable in size and shape. Fasteners are made from the front with a plastic zipper or standard buttons. To ensure that no seams are visible on the shelf, a "hedgehog" of a hedgehog is cut out of a beige or gray fleece, which is fastened with ordinary Velcro. The hood is lined with needles, made according to the same scheme as the spines for the cap. Curved ears are also made from abdominal tissue. They are sewn to the hood by a secret seam or stuck on a typewriter. For especially lazy ones - needles can be made from ordinary foam rubber, which is dyed in a suitable color with gouache.

Now, young parents know how to make a hedgehog suit. The main rule is not to limit your own imagination. Needles can be made from foam rubber, which is used to insulate windows by simply cutting it with suitable pieces and dyed gouache. The cloak can be cut, based on the ready-made hood from the jacket. Instead of overalls, you can put on ordinary trousers in a box and a white shirt, which is larger in size. In such a case, a special synthetic cushion pad is attached to the stomach. The time of preparation of such a suit depends on the skill of the mother and the chosen image, but with careful work and the availability of all necessary materials, this outfit can be done in one or two evenings.
