How to insulate the loggia: important information!

With the onset of autumn, preparations begin for winter. Many people store food and insulate their housing. Therefore, one of the most pressing issues at this time of the year is how to insulate the loggia with your own hands.

Before you begin the preparatory work, you need to determine the state of the object (and to what extent it should be insulated). For the initial data, let's take a typical room with installed windows. Since the process of glazing can be identified in a separate category, and its implementation should be entrusted to those specialists who were engaged in the manufacture of these windows. We will warm up so that to receive the maximal effect without installation of heating batteries.

To insulate the loggia, you first need to find all the holes leading to the street and seal them with a mounting foam. If they are too large, then you can additionally use a special sealant, which will help to eliminate all existing voids.

After this, it is necessary to insulate the walls that border the street. Here it is best to use a lining. Since this material can be classified as inexpensive and there are simply a huge number of options for its implementation. When will the sewing be done, then, in order to insulate the loggia, it is necessary to put a heater in the space between the wall and the lining. Usually, mineral wool is suitable for this, but some masters keep eggs for the second layer to keep heat and better sound insulation. They are made in such a way that they retain very well both sound and heat, while such material is also fireproof.

Having warmed the walls, many are wondering how to insulate the floor on the loggia, since it is often where the cold comes from. To do this, usually use the method of building. To the concrete basis, small slats are nailed over the entire area (about twenty centimeters apart). And they do it in such a way that a wooden lattice turns out. Further, in order to insulate the loggia, mineral wool should be placed in the resulting cells, and then the whole floor is covered with sheets of particle board, which are tightly fastened to the rails.

The resulting wooden floor is recommended to be treated with waterproof impregnation, which will relieve the unpleasant consequences in the future. After that, the whole floor can be covered with linoleum or carpet. Note that to insulate the loggia qualitatively, do not save on the material.

For greater reliability and safety of heat, the ceiling of the loggia is also recommended to be sewed with a lining. When you install it, you can immediately organize lighting, which, thanks to the properties of the selected material, can be installed in any area of the ceiling. For a more aesthetic clapboard sewn and the second wall, which is adjacent to the apartment (but this is at the discretion of the owner).

Such a loggia can withstand rather low temperatures, while maintaining its own heat, and when installing radiators (or other heaters) it turns into a real warm room.
