What is a fungus and where to plant it?

Fungi are a complex living organism, for their successful development and life, certain conditions of detention must be observed. Mushrooms, which we eat, are only a small visible part of a huge mycelium. The stronger it will be, the greater will be the harvest.

It is necessary to properly prepare the soil for planting the mycelium, it should be sufficiently saturated with useful elements for feeding the mycelium. It should also be taken into account that for development, a certain microclimate will also be required. And the mushrooms are sufficiently vulnerable, they can easily fall ill, so some sanitary measures should be followed.

How to grow champignons in the country? There are two main ways:

  • Growing champignons directly on the ground (often in the garden under the trees);
  • Growing indoors (a small shed or a basement will do).

Next, we will describe in detail how to grow champignons in the country in both cases.

Growing of mushrooms indoors

If you have a small shed at the dacha, stuffed with trash to the outset, safely march for cleaning and turn it into a house for your future wards. Champignons are not demanding for light, because it is convenient to grow them indoors. The room should be warm, without drafts and with a sufficient level of humidity. The basement will also be an excellent place for housing mushrooms.

If the walls of your room have long forgotten what repairs are, and mold has formed from dampness, you need to get rid of it. Champignons can easily pick up any infection, so do a thorough cleaning and whitewash the walls with plain lime.

How to grow champignons in the country? Arrange a few racks on which to place boxes, baskets or any other suitable containers. Racks allow to increase the area of mycelium, which means that the harvest will be greater. Boxes can be knocked out of the boards, buy ready-made or even use the usual dense garbage bags - as you will be comfortable.

In the darkness, the champignons can not develop fully, so take care of the lighting, one bulb will be enough.

Outdoor cultivation

Usually it is mushroom beds. They look a little different and are not an elevation, but a depression (30 cm is enough). At the bottom of this bed is laid drainage - a layer of small pebbles. Then compost is laid on top and tamped. The top is covered with a film, it will protect the mycelium from drying out, excessive light and other troubles.

After you have decided on the location of the mushrooms, you should proceed to the organization of fertile soil.

Soil Preparation

Regardless of where you grow mushrooms, the soil is prepared equally. To do this, you must first prepare the compost, it will include:

  • Organic (a mixture of sawdust, straw, manure and sand in equal measure) - 50 kg;
  • Lime and gypsum - for 12 kg of both;
  • Urea - 1,5 kg.

To make organic is good to use potato or tomato tops and even foliage from your garden, in general, all this is usually at hand for every gardener. Will only get hold of manure. Growing champignons at the cottage (reviews of experienced mushroom growers confirm this) will be the most productive if using horse manure. But you can take a regular cow.

All components should be mixed, put in a container, poured with water and covered with a dark film on top. In this state, the mass will remain for 20 days, the soil should be well overturned. The process is considered complete when the smell of ammonia disappears.

Mycelium

Ready soil fall asleep in beds or prepared boxes and afterwards make a mycelium. To fill the tank should be only half, then you can put them on top of each other, and the mushrooms will not suffer. Mycelium can be bought in specialized stores, often it is sold in polyethylene briquettes and can be of different weights and even different varieties and species. It is worth it quite inexpensively. Further cultivation of champignons at the cottage (the instruction with the description is attached to each package) should be carried out according to the manufacturer's recommendations.

Often the actions consist in introducing a mycelium into the soil and ensuring the full development of the mycelium. Humidity at the same time should be high - at least 50%, and temperature - not lower than 18-20 degrees. It is necessary to cover the soil with a film.

After 2 weeks you will see the formation of a white coating. This is the mycelium. Now it remains to pour a little greenhouse earth on top, cover with a film and wait for the appearance of mushrooms.

Vintage

The first mushrooms can be collected about 30 days later. Fruits are fully fruited 3-4 months, and after their growth goes on a decline. Collect them carefully, so as not to disturb the mycelium. Do not tear the mushrooms, but carefully unscrew them. The places where they were collected, sprinkle a little on the ground.

Do not forget to water the mycelium, humidity should be maintained constantly. Use irrigation method, so the land will be evenly absorbed by moisture.

Wasteless production

This is true, and this is with minimal investment of money and energy. An obsolete mushroom pick is an excellent organic fertilizer for your garden and garden. A huge amount of nutrients it will give your land and will get an excellent harvest from your vegetable beds. And the mycelium is used for feeding pigs, they are very fond of it.

Here are some more excellent arguments to organize the cultivation of champignons at the cottage. Pictures of the fertile beds look more than tempting.
