How to cook onions?

Onion in batter - an excellent snack dish, which is great for beer of any sort. Crispy fried rings will come in handy, if a big noisy company is expected to visit, and in the refrigerator - a minimum stock of products. Surprise your friends with a first-class hot snack and a hearty welcome! So, how to cook onions in batter easily and quickly?

What will it take to create a delicious dish?

  • Bulbs - 3-5 pcs. In order for the snack to look beautiful, it is better to choose middle-sized or small-sized heads. The number of bulbs is approximate - it all depends on the number of guests expected.
  • Egg - 2-3 pcs. You can cook more if you plan to fry an increased portion.
  • Flour - two or three tablespoons.
  • Drinking water - one tablespoon.
  • Sunflower oil. Onion fried in batter, it is better to cook on refined (deodorized) oil. So you can avoid excessive grease ringlets and unpleasant odors in the kitchen.
  • Vinegar - one tablespoon.
  • Salt, pepper - to taste.
  • Spice. You can add turmeric, paprika or something else sharp to the dish, then the onions will resemble the crispy chips to taste.

Step № 1. We prepare the dairy

To do this, you need a fairly deep bowl, in which you need to beat eggs, half a teaspoon of sunflower oil and flour. The last ingredient is added gradually, in order to prevent the formation of lumps. The mixture should be mixed thoroughly to make it look like liquid sour cream. Clay is cooked primarily because it is necessary to stand still in the refrigerator for a while before frying.

Step number 2. Divide the onion

After we clean the onion and rinse it under the water, proceed to cutting the heads. The rings should be approximately 0.6-0.8 mm wide. To make it more convenient to cut the heads, we remove one barrel from the bulb, we put it on the flat side, and then it does not slip out of the hands, and the circles turn out to be even. Then disconnect all the rings and sprinkle a little salt. It is recommended to first remove from the inside of the chopped onion thin skin and pour it with a tablespoon of vinegar and boiling water, otherwise the stick may subsequently fall away.

Step number 3. Let's start in the frying

We heat the frying pan and pour the sunflower oil into it to a level of about one centimeter. Rings, before dipping into the batter, must be lowered into flour, then the mixture will not drain off the onion. We spread the mugs in a pan so that they literally float in oil.

In order for the onion, fried in batter, not burnt, the frying pan should be well-heated. During cooking, the fire must be put at minimum. Do not download many rings at once, limit to two or three. But the result will be incredibly appetizing: the onion in the batter will become golden in color and crunch in the mouth.

Step 4. We serve the dish

In order not to spoil the taste with surpluses of fat, it is necessary to lay onion rings from a frying pan on a napkin that will absorb excess.

Onions in batter can be served not only to beer, but also as a side dish to a juicy steak.

To fully enjoy the taste of the dish, it would be nice to find sauce for it. It is best harmonized with onion rings mayonnaise-garlic. Alternatively, you can use sour-garlic. Both sauce is easy to prepare at home, mixing mayonnaise or sour cream with garlic and adding greens and spices to taste. A sweet and sour sauce will also be good, which will emphasize the taste of fried crispy rings.

Other preparation option

There is another way to cook onions in batter - it's to use a deep fryer. But the portion should not be large, because the dish is too fatty. It is desirable then to get wet onion rings with a paper towel and pour lemon juice.
