How to choose the right clothes? Size 42 - is a convenient and understandable marking of women's dresses

Finding the right size for a dress is not an easy task. To make it perfectly fit your figure, you have to take into account a lot of physical parameters. You need to know your height, chest, waist and hips, and also learn how to properly determine the appropriate size of the finished product.

Purchasing clothes in shopping centers or online stores, many often can not accurately determine the required size. "42" is a marking, meaning for women's clothing volume on the breast line.

Characteristics of the Russian scale

The domestic dimensional grid has recently undergone some changes, and now it is close to the new proportions of the modern woman. However, if you are the owner of a non-standard figure, then the search for a suitable size of clothes is much more complicated.

Perhaps you have to give up ready-made dresses and buy a jacket and a skirt of different sizes, or sew your own custom-made outfits. To properly choose a dress, you first need to make individual measurements of the figure.

Today, mass clothing is made according to average female standards. The modern scale begins with 156 cm (previously - from 160 cm). For example, to make a standard dress of 42 sizes today, the average height is 168 cm (before that was 164 cm).

In Russia, the size of clothing is determined by the semi-grip of the chest (for shoulder products) and hips (for waist products). In particular, the size of the dress according to Russian standards is defined as the amount of chest circumference divided by 2. The standard size range from 40 to 60 has three completeness: small (M), medium (C) and large (B). For example, the size 42 is a shoulder clothing for women with a breast volume of 84/2 = 42 cm. Since 62 dresses size, the completeness is considered very large (OB). Half of the female population is of medium completeness, outside the scale 3.5% of our ladies.

How to decipher the numbers on the label?

The labeling of dresses according to Russian standards contains 3 leading parameters: growth, girth of chest and hips. For belted models (without a belt), the waist circumference is indicated. Of the additional values indicate the completeness, length of the product, hip height, shoulder width, neck circumference, length of the leg, girth of the wrist and others.

This information allows you to determine if fit clothes fit you. In order to correlate the marking of Russian clothes with their own standards, you must multiply the number assigned to it by 2.

For example, if the label of a dress made in Russia costs 42, this means that it is suitable for women with a chest volume equal to 84 cm.

International Mesh Sizes

Marking clothes on the European scale includes 2 leading parameters: growth and chest girth. In order to quickly bring the European standard to the Russian one, it is enough to add 6 units to the number meaning the girth of the chest. For example, a jacket, on the label of which the size 42 is indicated, is a product similar to the measurements of the domestic 48 size. According to the international classification, this dress will be marked with the letter M / L (from English Medium / Large).

Methods for matching dimensions

To bring the Russian marking to the international one, you can use a dimensional table or an online calculator for calculating the sizes of women's clothing. The second option is more convenient, because it allows to accurately transform another's metric system in inches into the familiar centimeter scale.

In addition, the calculator calculates the required size for the specified physical parameters. The conformity of Russian and international sizes of dresses can also be determined from the table.

If all the measurements were taken correctly, then find out your size of the summer dress will not be difficult. For example, the female 42 size is European 36, and the international S, corresponding to the parameters 84-62-90 (chest - waist - hips). The values are averaged, so your measurements may differ from the numbers on the label within 1 cm in either direction.

If your proportions do not correspond to growth or differ from standard ones, then when choosing clothes to focus only on the chest girth as the main criterion for determining the size is unreasonable. If, for example, the bust in the girth is equal to 84 cm, and the girth of the thighs according to the measurements turned out to be 94 cm, the dress size is chosen, proceeding from a larger value, that is, it is necessary to purchase a size of 44.
