How to Choose a Faucet for Shower Cabin And Bathroom

Today there are two main options for the location of the bathroom faucet. It can be installed on the surface of a bath or on a wall. In the first case, only the spout - "spout" and water regulation knobs will come out from the side of the bath. If desired, such a mixer can be installed on a cast-iron bath, drilling it, but usually similar mixers are used on acrylic baths with wide sides - rectangular and angled.

Today, two thirds of the inhabitants of Russia use the wall option. Once upon a time, the whole Union somebody's sophisticated mind suggested a shell overhanging the bathroom, since then this version of the tap with a turning long spout has become so common. To twist such a tap back and forth many people are used to such a situation that they simply can not imagine a different situation. That is why many foreign manufacturers, supplying their products to Russia, refuse to produce cranes with long spouts in no hurry. Such cranes are now supplied by many companies: Germany (HANSGROHE, DM, HANSA, JADO), Finland (ORAS), Sweden (GUSTAVSBERG), Hungary (MOFEM), Italy (FARI, FIORI), and Poland and Turkey. The standard length of the spout of a long crane is 30 cm, but there are variants of 39, 25 and 20 cm long. Of course, such mixers are not only familiar, but also comfortable, but they have significant drawbacks.

In the expensive or elite lines of sanitary equipment of the best European manufacturers, it is no accident that cranes with a basically short and fixed nose are represented. The fact is that this design has more reliability - the fewer different details and dismemberments in the mixer, the lower the risk that someday the water will find an outlet and your bath mixer will start flowing.

Typically, the distance between the water inlet holes (stihmas) in the imported bath mixers is about 15 cm. In addition, they are usually equipped with special adapters (eccentric nozzles) by which the stihmas can be changed slightly, adjusted to the distance between the cold and hot water. Sometimes elements of rigid fixation to water pipes are absent for certain models of cranes, instead they are equipped with brass tubes with or without threads, they play the role of inlet pipes. To fix them to the pipes of the water supply, adapters are needed.

The difference between the shower cranes is that they do not have a "spout". In such cranes, water is supplied directly to the shower head by a hose. The bowl is usually fixed on a rod or bracket mounted on a wall. It should be noted separately the so-called "hidden" variety of shower mixers. Hidden it is called because the whole mechanism is walled into the wall, only the shower unit and the handles are exposed to the outside for use. Such a design of the shower mixer looks very stylish, but its installation is recommended only if the armature is absolutely reliable, and the qualification of the master performing the work is beyond doubt. Otherwise, in the event that the mixer will let flow, being walled in the wall, you just do not notice it, which can lead to very disastrous consequences and serious repair. When choosing a faucet for a shower room, you should orient to a price of at least $ 90 - the quality of cheaper mixers is unlikely to be high.
