Hood-scarf - a fashion accessory of a modern autumn-winter wardrobe

Winter jersey never goes out of fashion. Thick knitted sweaters, long scarves and hats of various styles and colors from year to year decorate the catwalks, complementing the autumn and winter warm clothes. The last trend of the fashionable autumn-winter wardrobe was a hood-scarf made of fabric or knitwear, sewn or knitted from wool.

A bit of history

It can be said that he again became fashionable, as similar models were encountered before, starting from the beginning of the 20th century. Slightly changing externally, acquiring vivid original accents, the hood-scarf has been a simple and very original accessory not only for women's, but also for men's clothing. It should be said that the modelers borrowed it from the men's wardrobe, as the prototype of this fashionable thing was the bashlyk - part of the military uniform, which protected soldiers and officers from the wind and cold.

The modern fashionable hood-scarf has several varieties. Firstly, it is a hood-like model - a hood made from a scarf folded in half, with long wide ends that can be wrapped several times around the neck, cross over on the chest and tie at the waist, or simply loosen freely on both sides.
The ends of the scarf are decorated with embroidery, they are gathered on a string and a pompom or a brush is sewn, two patch pockets are sewed in which it is convenient to hide hands.

Knitted scarf-hood is made of thick or thin wool yarn smooth, embossed or openwork viscous. The most suitable patterns are those designed for knitting scarves. This piece of clothing, made of thick yarn, is a good complement to a warm sports style jacket made of leather or raincoat. A scarf-hood made of fine thread, lace or embroidered binding will be a perfect addition to an elegant winter coat or a fur coat.

Another model is called "pipe" or "snud". It, more likely, reminds a collar-collar which easily is transformed in a hood. Knit such an accessory in the form of a wide rectangle, the length of which is measured by the oval face. For work using circular knitting needles, we obtain a seamless model, or usual two spokes, then the finished product is sewn with an invisible knitted suture.

Snud - a wide "yoke" made of a long knitted rectangle, the ends of which are sewn together and close in a circle. Snud is put on the head, then the ends are crossed with an eight under the chin and are thrown over the neck once again in the form of a collar, laying beautiful folds. They are complemented by both sportswear and classic elegant, depending on how viscous and what kind of yarn it is made from. Elegant lacy models will be an original addition to the pullover and a thin sweater.

Knitted hood-scarf is suitable not only for women's wardrobe, but also for men, if it is made of soft yarn simple viscous and more strict, laconic form. Scarf-hood for men, rather, should resemble all the same hood, only more modern and fashionable. A similar model is shown in the picture. It is knitted from thick wool with an English rubber band and consists of a long scarf, to which a separately connected hood is sewn. On the edge is laid a thick crocheted crochet out of the columns without a crochet, so that the edge was tight and held the shape well. Such an accessory perfectly protects against wind and cold, it can easily be dropped from the head in the room, leaving on the shoulders in the form of a scarf.
