Honda DN-01: powerful and reliable motorcycle with innovative transmission

The idea that the conceptual bike Honda DN-01 will remain a concept, was formed back in 2005, after showing a motorcycle at the Tokyo auto show. Distrust was caused by promises of high characteristics of the motorcycle due to the use of a stepless gearbox and innovative technologies in the production of the main components of the unit, which was to be integrated into the sports bikes of this series.

Although at that time it seemed unrealizable, but experts from the company of Honda, through a long and hard work, came to the goal. They were able to develop a unique working model DN-01 for batch production, which reflected the promised superior performance and style from the concept presented before them.

Honda DN 01 has always been in the limelight, almost from its very appearance, and has attracted genuine interest to this day. If you look closely at the power of the V-shaped two-cylinder engine, as well as solid seventeen-inch wheels and an elongated low case, then we see a full-fledged motorcycle. But if you take into account the lack of gearbox and clutch, as well as the extraordinary ease in handling, then, by these and some other features, Honda DN-1 can be attributed to some unusual variant of a super-power scooter.

Nevertheless, the Honda DN-01 is a revolutionary in its own way, a two-wheeled vehicle. In it for the first time in the history of the existence of motorcycles was applied the most advanced, completely automatic gearbox.

Now, thanks to a fully automatic gearbox, the driver of the motorcycle no longer needs to be distracted to switch gears, and this in turn minimizes all possible errors.

Long-distance trips behind the wheel of this sports bike are not only safe, but also bring pleasure from the ride. This model of the motorcycle is considered more suitable for a comfortable ride than any other motorcycle of this configuration.

The ability of the motorcycle to adapt instantly to the most minor changes in road conditions became possible thanks to the innovative transmission, which Honda engineers took almost 20 years to create.

A lot of time has gone to improve the developed transmission. The novelty, which received the designation HFT (Human-Friendly Transmission), turned into a kind of "bridge of friendship", overcoming the differences between powerful motorcycles with their usual transmissions, and scooters with their inherent smoothness and ease of management.

Thus, the management of the new generation Honda DN-01 sports bike with the innovative automatic transmission, which provides the same power and acceleration to the bike as in a motorcycle with a manual gearbox, is just an exciting exercise.
