Hofitol: instructions, recommendations

Hofitol - a natural herbal preparation, prepared from an extract of artichoke. The benefits of this prickly plant from the family of Compositae were known even in ancient times. One of the mottos of Pliny the Elder, who was very concerned about his health, was the slogan "No day without artichoke."

Later, when the miracle properties of the plant became known in the East, Avicenna took up his studies. As a result, he came to the conclusion that this representative of the flora gives the body a pleasant smell, because it expels from the body fetid urine. I meant ammonia, into which harmful creatinine, urea and other compounds excreted in the urine quickly turn in the air.

Hofitol, the instruction explains this, took the best of all the artichoke properties. It has a very mild diuretic and choleretic action, it helps to normalize metabolic processes in the body. In addition, Hofitol, an abstract to the medicine contains this information, is a good hepatoprotector. It is able to protect the liver from harmful effects of alcohol, antibiotics, other aggressive substances.

Such properties of the means "Hofitol", the instruction contains this information, depend on the raw materials from which it is prepared - artichoke. The effect of the drug is due to the constituent plants of coffee-derived (derived from coffee) acids, bitter substances, flavonoids, cinnamon, ascorbic, carotene, vitamins, and some other constituents. It is the complex of these substances that helps the liver to be purified from harmful toxins, including radio nuclides and heavy metal salts.

What else is useful for Hofitol? The use of the medicine is practiced for the treatment of many diseases:

  • Hepatitis.
  • Cirrhosis or fatty liver hepatosis.
  • Dyskinesia of the gallbladder, cholecystitis.
  • Hepatic and renal insufficiency.
  • Obesity.
  • Acetonemia.
  • Sclerosis.
  • Oliguria with heart failure.
  • Intoxication of a variety of species.

Hofitol, the instruction explains, take at least two weeks for 2-3 tablets per reception three times a day. It needs to be done on an empty stomach. Naturally, the dose is reduced for children. It is advisable if the doctor does this individually.

The artichoke plant in folk medicine is successfully used even for the treatment of syphilis (in combination with other drugs), but the effectiveness of the drug "Hofitol" in this case has not been studied.

This drug, like any substance, can cause allergic reactions, overdose.

In the latter case, vomiting and diarrhea are possible, but this happens rarely and only when taking ultra-high doses.

Other adverse reactions to the drug "Hofitol", assures the instruction, was not noted. That's why the drug prescribed even to pregnant women, without fear of negative consequences.

Contraindications for a little medicine. These include only acute hepatic or renal disease and obstruction of the biliary tract.

However, allergic people need to be careful: in addition to the water extract in the drug "Hofitol", the instruction warns, includes the following auxiliary substances: magnesium stearate, corn starch, dye, calcium carbonate, some other chemical and natural substances. They are also capable of causing an allergic reaction. Artichoke, and, consequently, the drug created from it, contain a high amount of inulin. That's why people with diabetes are recommended to consume the plant, and some doctors in special cases recommend that patients with diabetes use Hofitol. However, the question of the expediency of its use can be solved only by a doctor.

In pharmacies, the drug "Hofitol", the instruction tells about this, is presented in the form of dragees, tablets in the shell, solutions for intravenous or intramuscular injection. The analogue of this French medicine is only one - Holebil, made from an extract of artichoke and produced in Poland. The price of Hofitol is in the range of 25-350 rubles, depending on the packaging, the type of drug and the region in which it is sold.
