Heves Benedict - defender of the German national team and the "Schalke"

To date, the German national team has an incredibly reliable pair of central defenders, consisting of Jérôme Boateng and Mats Hummels. However, not always they can be in the ranks - therefore, to the aid comes Hededes Benedikt. This central defender, who is also able to play on both flanks of the defense, all his career favors the Gelsenkirchen Schalke, he won the love and respect of the fans not only with his devotion to the club, but also with an excellent and reliable game. Heves Benedict is the heart of Schalke.

Carier start

Hevedes Benedikt was born on February 29, 1988, and from the age of six he professionally began to get involved in football, having gone to the sports school of the local club. There he spent six years, after which he moved to another football academy, until in 2001 he was in Gelsenkirchen, where he was received at Schalke. It was there that he began his career, and, as Heves Benedict himself says, he will finish it there.

Heart of the club

In the distant 2007, Benedikt Hevedes got his first chance to play as a basis for Schalke when he was only 19 years old. Naturally, in his first season he did not play a lot of matches - there were only nine of them. In general, until 2009, Benedikt was often in the team's double, but his talent gradually expanded, and in 2009 the young talent became the player of the base. Gradually, he began to turn into a key figure of the club and today is his leader and at the same time a symbol.

Benedikt Hevedes is a defender who played 289 matches for Schalke, and now he is only 28 years old. He just went to the very peak of his career, and if the injuries do not interfere with him, then he can play no less in the future. However, Benedikt is not only behind the "Schalke" - he also almost always gets calls to the German national team, where he does not play such an important role, but is always part of the rotation.

Performances for the German national team

His first challenge to the German national team defender was in 2011, when he was already 23 years old. Then he acted as the right-back, and in a friendly match against the national team Uruguay came out in the second half to replace, allowing to leave to rest himself Philip Lama. Then many people thought that for Lama growing up a suitable shift, but eventually it became clear that Heedes is still inferior in the class to this magnificent wingback, and also looks much better in the center of defense. In the end, Hevedes periodically flirted in qualifying matches for the European Championship in 2012 , which he was declared and even went. However, to enter the field he did not happen - the whole tournament he held in reserve.

But in 2014, which became a triumph for the Germans, Hededes proved to be very handy. The German national team had problems with the left flank of defense, and central defender Hevedes happily took this position. He held a great tournament and made a serious contribution to the fact that the Germans won the World Cup in 2014. He even gave one assists in the group stage match against Ghana.

As for the European Championship in 2016, here Heedes was already used originally to close the hole formed after the end of his career in the Philipp Lama national team in defense. But his performances there were far from perfect, so in the next two matches he was on the replacement, in the quarter-final with the Italians he became the third central defender along with Boateng and Hummels, and in the semifinals, which the Germans lost to the French, was paired with Boateng, so As Hummels received a disqualification.

Achievements

For the "Schalke" Hevedes won only the German Cup in 2011, and then the German Super Cup. But with the team was able to achieve an incredible result - he became the owner of the World Cup.
