GAZ-3102 "Volga" (the tuning of this model will be described in this article) is a middle class car that was produced in the territory of the USSR (now - Russia). Mass production began in December 1981, and ended in 2009.

Initially, it was planned that Volga would be the successor of the model with index 24. But for some reasons, in the economic and political spheres, the car began to descend from the assembly line in limited quantities - 3,000 copies a year, and larger lots were not produced. This nuance was reflected in the fact that in the Soviet Union GAZ-3102 was used only for official purposes. As a rule, the car came into the possession of officials, but not so influential as to acquire the Seagull. For the same reasons, the car was tuned, for example, improved the engine's technical characteristics, in order to significantly increase the developed speed, strengthened the security system, both internal and external. History of development

According to the plans of the manufacturer, he should have entered the assembly by 1978, but again political problems did not allow to implement the plan.

When it became clear that it makes no sense to develop a car with a V6 engine, the plant decided to create improved modifications of the already existing power unit, which promised to be much more powerful. According to theoretical calculations, after the tuning, the ride power could be about 150 liters. from.

Create a comfortable dynamics was possible, which in fact and did. However, I had to abandon the automatic transmission, power steering and air conditioning. All this helped to reduce the cost price. It was this car GAZ-3102 (tuning, which greatly improved the technical characteristics, it was possible to do on their own) received a certificate and was allowed to assemble and sell in 1978.

Exterior

Styling (it's an external tuning) immediately showed the difference of this car from other specimens of the same plant. By the world standards of that time, his appearance fully met all the requirements and was quite fashionable. Due to the changed safety rules, the manufacturer had to update the windows, doors, trunk and bodywork. The styling was influenced by the culture of North America, Western Europe. The manufacturer did not copy anyone's ideas, but created their own, relying on the generally accepted standards of everyday life in different parts of the world.

Interior

The new car received a GAZ-3102 car. The tuning of the salon has changed quite a lot, contrary to all expectations of potential buyers and critics. The manufacturer more trusted western taste and tried to bring something to the Russian car industry from foreign culture. Therefore, the internal appearance of the machine corresponded to all points of luxury and elegance.
