Garden hose: description of the main varieties and their characteristics
The garden hose is simply irreplaceable on a personal plot or a summer residence, after all without qualitative watering it is very difficult to grow a good crop. On how high-quality this accessory will be, its longevity and basic characteristics depend. Today old-fashioned rubber hoses, quickly becoming worthless, give way to products made from modern materials. On the market, one can rarely find a single-layer garden hose made of rubber: its high sensitivity to climate, rapid wear (cracking, loss of flexibility) made this type of hose uncompetitive.
Contemporary Garden
Garden hose made of polyvinyl chloride (PVC) has become one of the most popular among gardeners and truck farmers, because it has all the necessary qualities at a relatively low price. Distinguish between single-layer and multilayer, the latter are most widely represented. Several layers of PVC are often reinforced with a kapron thread, which gives greater strength and resistance to stress. To avoid kink of the hose, and also to keep its shape better, corrugated versions are produced.
Nylon garden hose is perfect for irrigation systems when the pressure in the water supply system is low. Due to the small internal diameter, the water pressure is not lost along the entire length of the hose, which makes it simply irreplaceable in the garden areas.
Rubber garden hose gives way to competitors. However, its version, reinforced with kapron fiber or thread, can still be found on sale. To prevent kinks or twisting, the icing is released with a fluted surface.
High-strength garden hose is used in case of high loads and difficult conditions
In addition to the material of manufacture, attention should be paid to the diameter of the section. Garden hose 3/4 or 1/2 inch - the most common modification among PVC or rubber hoses. In most cases, they cope with the everyday tasks of watering the infield. Polyurethane and nylon have a small diameter, which slightly affects the throughput, but allows the use of such hoses in systems with low water pressure without losing the quality of irrigation.
