"Fromilide Uno" - antibiotic group of macrolides

The drug "Fromilide Uno" is available in tablets that have a prolonged effect. They are biconvex in shape, yellow in color, on each side of them has a "U" marking. The main active substance in this preparation is clarithromycin, and auxiliary ones are lactose monohydrate, titanium dioxide, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, sodium alginate, yellow quinoline dye polysorbate 80, povidone, talc, magnesium stearate, propylene glycol, and hypromellose alginate.

The drug "Fromil Uno" is a semisynthetic antibiotic and belongs to the group of macrolides. Basically, it has bacteriostatic and, of course, bactericidal action.

The active substance is well absorbed from the digestive tract. The presence of food slightly slows down the absorption, but the bioavailability of clarithromycin is virtually unaffected.

After taking the drug, it quickly penetrates into the liquid as well as into the tissues of the body, and its concentration in them is almost 10 times higher than in the serum.

If you took 250 mg of the drug "Formylid Uno", then its half-life is 3-4 hours, and if 500 mg, then about 5-7 hours.

This medication, which is issued in a prolonged form, is not recommended for people with severe renal failure. They should take this remedy in the form of immediate-action tablets.

Drug "Fromil Uno": instructions for use

This medication is used in the following cases:

- in the presence of tonsillopharyngitis, acute sinusitis and other infections occurring in the upper respiratory tract;

- for the treatment of infections occurring in the lower respiratory tract;

- in the treatment of otitis media and infections of soft tissues and skin;

- for infectious and inflammatory diseases caused by microorganisms sensitive to the "Framilid Uno" agent.

These tablets should be taken with food and washed down with a large volume of liquid, without having to crack them or break them.

Dosage for children who are more than 12 years old, and also for adults is 1 tablet per day. If severe infections are treated, it is allowed to take two tablets per day. The duration of treatment is usually one to two weeks.

Side effects

After taking the drug "Framilid Uno", there may be pain in the abdomen, glossitis, diarrhea, stomatitis. Very rarely there may be cholestatic jaundice.

The nervous system can respond with the appearance of headache, a sense of fear, nightmarish dreams, confusion, dizziness, insomnia.

Also, the use of this drug can cause ventricular arrhythmia and prolongation of the QT interval.

Usually all of these side effects are of low intensity, but it is still worth consulting with a doctor.

Contraindications

Do not take the drug "Fromilide Uno" in the presence of hepatitis (in the anamnesis), porphyria, in the first trimester of pregnancy, as well as during lactation. Do not prescribe this drug together with pimozide, cisapride, astemizole or terfenadine.

If you take this remedy in the presence of chronic liver disease, you need to constantly monitor serum enzymes . When prescribing with warfarin, as well as other indirect anticoagulants, prothrombin time should be monitored .

With such a side effect as persistent diarrhea, it is necessary to stop taking the drug, as this may indicate the development of pseudomembranous colitis.

Symptoms of an overdose of the drug "Fromil Uno" are headache, vomiting, diarrhea, confusion, nausea. In such cases, gastric lavage and further symptomatic treatment are performed.
