Flying motorcycle - a new miracle of technology

With each year, incredible technical inventions bring a person closer to a fantastic world. Now fans of the "Star Wars" can rejoice. Independent flights became possible due to the creation of a flying motorcycle.

About the new technology miracle started talking back in 2011, but then the flying motorcycle was far from its perfect real embodiment. But now this is not just the transcendental fantasy of the futurists, but a real breakthrough in science, overcoming earthly gravity!

History of creation

The idea of flying personal transport arose in the last century and met exclusively in science fiction novels and films. However, in 2011, the American company Aerofex shared the news about the invention of the miracle Aero-X, which is capable of moving through the air at a height of up to five meters. The author of the development was the Australian engineer Chris Malloy. To begin with, he created a prototype - a reduced version of the aircraft, which carried certain objects (a glass of water, for example).

In its technical structure, a flying motorcycle represents a mixture of a helicopter and a motorcycle. Instead of wheels in the new transport screws with carbon blades, thanks to the rotation of which the device rises into the air. From the motorcycle the novelty went to the controls and the engine. So there was the world's first flying motorcycle, also called Hoverbike.

Characteristics

Free movement in space to a new aircraft is provided by two four-stroke engines with a capacity of 80 kW. To create a thrust to each of them are attached screws. Such characteristics allow a flying motorcycle to climb to a height of about three kilometers and travel at a speed of more than 200 km / h. In the opinion of the very inventor Malloy, such a height in the use of Hoverbike is not needed. It is enough and 2-5 meters above the ground.

A flying motorcycle is running on gasoline. The duration of the flight with a full tank is about an hour. According to the developer, 30 liters will be enough for 150 km. We also consider the use of an electric drive. For security purposes, the flying vehicle is equipped with two parachutes.

Chinese Development

In January, Las Vegas hosted the international electronics exhibition (CES-2016), at which Chinese developers presented an analog of a flying motorcycle, called EHang 184. Its main advantage, according to the engineers themselves, is the lack of the need for a special license for controlling the aircraft. He obeys two main commands: "take-off" and "landing", as a drone. These commands are transmitted using a tablet. The weight of the technical novelty is approximately 200 kg.

The maximum flight altitude reaches three and a half kilometers. The device operates on an electric drive and four pairs of screws. After a two-hour charge, you can stay in the air for 23 minutes at a speed of up to 100 km / h. The Chinese flying motorcycle has a closed cockpit with air conditioning and a lamp. Transport is designed for one person, it is possible to move small baggage.

The author of the project, Darrik Xiong, says that a flying motorcycle is safe to use. Even with severe damage, the fasteners and screws ensure a soft fit of the machine.

Mass production

The Chinese quadrocopter was welcomed and approved at the international exhibition in Las Vegas, which served as an impetus for the idea of its mass production. Developers from the People's Republic of China argue that the device has successfully passed the test and is ready for implementation. It is not yet known when the Chinese flying motorcycle will go on sale. The price of it will be about 200-300 thousand dollars.

Hungarian version

The development of a flying motorcycle did not pass by Hungarian engineers from the company Bay Zoltan, who created their own version of the Flike Tricopter. The novelty was presented at the exhibition on extreme sports in Dubai.

The Hungarian flying motorcycle lifts electric motors and three pairs of carbon fiber screws. The weight of the device reaches 250 kg. The maximum speed is 100 km / h at an altitude of up to 30 meters. The speed is adjusted independently by changing the work of one of the screws. The full charge lasts for 40 minutes at an average speed of the vehicle.

The tricopter will be on sale in early 2017. According to preliminary data, its price will be 200 thousand dollars.

Appointment

A flying motorcycle can be used not only as a means of transport or demonstration of financial status, but also for higher purposes. According to the developers themselves, ease of management, modest dimensions and maneuverability of flying motorcycles allow using them in rescue operations, extinguishing fires, searching for people, for video surveillance and border patrols.

Testing in the USA

Developers, the pioneers - the company Aerofex - continue to work on improving their models of flying motorcycles. Today they are testing in the desert areas of the United States. Engineers received a state order and plan to use this invention for military equipment of the US Army. Serial production is scheduled for 2017. One device will cost about 85 thousand dollars. While this is the most profitable offer for the technical market.

In the meantime, the engineering company Chris Malloy began selling smaller models. Their cost ranges from 1000 to 1600 dollars. The main functions of flying motorcycles are aerial photography and delivery of small loads.
