Emotional intelligence as one of the components of social intelligence

Emotional intelligence is one of the components of social intelligence, which includes empathy, social expressiveness, the ability to self-regulation. The term appeared and is used for a long time, but recently it has become more widespread. It differs somewhat from the well-known concept of "intellect". Psychology considers the category of emotional intelligence as the ability to correctly navigate the situation, to see and recognize the emotional states of the surrounding people.

Emotions in human life were always present. Remembering, for example, our conversations with various interlocutors, we catch ourselves thinking that it's easy and pleasant to communicate with someone, and it's difficult to find a common language with someone. When talking with a sullen interlocutor, without a shadow of any emotion on his face, it is difficult to guess whether your story is interesting to him. And on the contrary, if a person actively uses facial expressions and gestures during interaction, then it is easy to contact him.

Developed emotional intelligence helps you quickly establish contacts, control your emotions and feelings, and show tolerance. That is why in the preschool age much attention is paid to its formation.

According to the activity theory, emotional communication with an adult is the leading activity of the baby, this age is the most sensitive for the development of emotional intelligence. Often in children who have not received sufficient sensory contact with their parents, later there are violations of the emotional-volitional sphere, which after a while may lead to a delay in psycho-speech development.

In pre-school institutions , psychology educators and educators develop programs, didactic games and manuals that develop empathy, helping children differentiate their own and others' emotional states.

Emotional intelligence, developed in preschool age, contributes to more successful interaction, the formation of adequate self-esteem, increases the adaptability to various new living conditions of an adult and a child. Therefore, in kindergartens much attention is paid to games for the difference of emotions, to various etudes showing any emotional state, to the image of a wide range of feelings of a person.

Emotional intelligence helps to develop good and good cartoons. A lot of controversy arises about modern animation. The fact is that the characters loved by many children have distorted faces (for example, transformers, Bakugans and other characters), on which it is impossible to track their emotional states. And although the basis of these animated films is the age-old problem of fighting good against evil, in which the upper reaches a positive hero, no feelings are displayed on his face - it is impossible to understand when he is happy or sad, angry or offended. Children who spend a lot of time watching these cartoons often have emotional and volitional disturbances: as a rule, they are heightened unmotivated aggressiveness, high level of anxiety, anger, lack of empathy and empathy.

The development of emotional intelligence in a preschool child favors the formation of a socially active person who has an adequate self-esteem - these are the components of success in the modern world.
