Each of us has one more person. So they say

It seems to us that our origin is easy to explain. Every person has a father and mother. Two of these people met, fell in love, and then after a stormy night, a fertilized female egg began to develop. In nine months, a baby appears, tiny and incessantly screaming.

Each of us thinks that half absorbed the genotype of the father, and the other half was formed thanks to the mother. And while we are confident that we belong to ourselves 100 percent.

However, recent research in medicine makes people look at things differently. It turns out that inside of you, besides the parent genes, there can live various viruses, bacteria and even other personalities.

Based on the interaction of twins

The statement about the influence of another person can best be traced to the experience of the interaction of twins. In the body of each of them there are particles of another. This is true even for the brain. The presence of extraneous elements in the body causes the individual to change behavior.

We are not individuals, we are superorganisms

How will you feel your body when you learn that without your knowledge, a lot of different microorganisms are fighting for it? For sure you will become uncomfortable. Simply nature has taken care of that our physical shell does not feel these battles. However, human behavior can sometimes be difficult to explain. Modern psychological science encourages physicians to take into account the influence of external factors.

What are intestinal bacteria capable of?

Scientists know (and all the rest can only guess) that our body is a rattling cocktail of a variety of microorganisms. So, for example, intestinal bacteria can influence the production of neurotransmitters, which means controlling our mood. Some of the researchers put forth a rather bold hypothesis that certain intestinal microbes can form human gastronomic predilections.

Toxoplasmosis

If the toxoplasma penetrates into the body, most often transmitted to us from cats, in some cases it is harmful not only for health, but for life. When toxoplasmosis infects rats or mice, their consciousness changes completely, and they stop being afraid of furry predators living in houses. Sometimes infected rodents draw some unknown force to the habitats of cats. Like a magnet, toxoplasma, which got into the mouse's body, attracts the rodent closer to the cat. This is the nature of the multiplication of parasites.

If a person becomes infected, his behavior also changes. That is why we know so many cases caused by unjustified risks, schizophrenic disorders, depressions and suicide attempts "on an equal footing". Did you know that meat that is sold in supermarkets can also be infected with toxoplasma? So, for example, in the UK such products are not uncommon. About a third of meat products conceal potential risks for a person's mental health.

Twins can be even closer to each other

So, we have already made sure that we can not fully answer for our behavior. But back to a more detailed study of the development of twins. In the womb of the mother cells of twins and triplets are able to migrate. Curiously, a number of twins can have at once two blood groups. One of them forms its own cells, and the other cells of the brother or sister.

If this is not so terrible with respect to the blood, then this hybridity has irreversible consequences for the brain. When there is a foreign tissue in the brain, its architecture is broken. This is confirmed by observations that the left-handers are predominant among the twins. If the hybridity breaks the balance of the brain, then the distribution of motility does not follow the usual scenario.

Each person in the womb of the mother could have a double

Not every one of us can boast of having a twin. However, scientists do not exclude the almost incredible: in the womb next to us could be a double cell. Just at the stage of the earliest development of embryos, the cells of one of them were completely absorbed by the body of the other. Only the genetic code received from the other person, while not going anywhere. So we are born, grow, grow up and think that we belong to ourselves. But in fact, we are nothing more than a human superorganism.
