Description of the Tarkhankut Peninsula. Tarkhankut peninsula: rest in Crimea

The planet Earth is huge. Everywhere you will not be. But outlandish terrain is sometimes very close. And we do not know about this. About one such unique edge in this article.

Without taxes

To experienced tourists who have climbed the whole Crimea, of course, it is well known that if you move to the extreme west, you will get to the Tarkhankut peninsula. This, in fact, the end of the Crimea. Further - the sea. In the translation from Crimean Tatar, the name means "a place exempt from taxes". And it is true that for a long time (XV-XVIII centuries) the population of this part of the Crimea did not pay taxes. So it was said in the "tarhanyh charters".

Once upon a time in the territory of the Tarkhankut peninsula there were ancient Greek settlements. Traces of this are still available.

Clean water and wild rocks

If you want to know what the earth looked like millions of years ago, then you are here. It seems that civilization is a little lost and did not get to Tarkhankut (Crimea). Not only is this generally sparsely populated territory, so also travelers are always sparse. But there is no evil without good. As a result, it was possible not to spoil the pristine beauty of the Tarkhankut peninsula. Today it is the cleanest part of the Black Sea coast.

The eponymous cape is the very point beyond which the farther to the west is only the sea. Namely it is a great attraction. For such a transparent water on the coast anywhere you will not see. If you ever go here, do not forget the scuba or mask with the tube. You can see for yourself the inhabitants of the sea. Or for a small fee, experienced divers will show you what's going on in the depths.

Transparency of the sea is such that competitions are held on underwater photography.

Fabulously beautiful near the Tarkhankut peninsula vertical rocks of limestone, they break off near the sea.

Filmfest

There is another attraction, which is famous for the Tarkhankut peninsula. Olenevka is a village near which there are such beauties that many filmmakers chose precisely these rocks, caves and bays for their stunning staff.

If from the village to go by car along the sea (dirt road), then in a quarter of an hour you will find yourself on Cape Grand Atlesh. And the panorama is like some kind of magic. Cliffs of rocks here are snow-white. Their height - as much as 40-60 meters. Pure yellowish beaches hid behind such small coves. The very sea and sky are saturated blue. Caves with grottoes - both green and white. The shore is capriciously curled in an arc.

But the Turtle - this is the name of one rock. Not far from the other. In it, the wind along with the waves struck the Arch of great size. It is like a symbol of this cape.

The metal steps lead to the Arch. The staircase was built recently. But someone who cut down another staircase in the same limestone is unknown. But it was on it went to the boat heroine from the film "Taman". It was filmed based on the novel by M. Yu. Lermontov. And near the Arch there is an unusual form of the grotto. He attracted the attention of the creators of two films at once: "Amphibian Man" (1961) and "Pirates of the Twentieth Century" (1979).

But beauty - beauty, but in general the rocks of this Tarkhankut peninsula are very insidious for those who are at sea. The number of ships sunken here is decent. Almost like in the waters of Kerch or Sevastopol. Quietly in these bays for a long time was only pirates and smugglers. The whole coast is dug by caves, grottoes, bizarre blocks. There they were hiding.

At Cape Small Atlesh there is a giant tunnel (98 m long). This is also the "work" of the waves. Its height is from 8.5 meters to 10.7 (in different points). Here, even the most desperate brave souls take their breath away. This is an extraordinary natural structure. The main character of the movie "Pirates of the XX century" makes his way on this very transition to the island to pirates.

Bowl of Love

We have convinced you, how unusual and attractive is the Tarkhankut Peninsula? Rest here will be unforgettable.

So, you've come here. Allow me then another piece of advice. Be sure to swim in the bay with the original name "Bowl of Love". It is also a purely natural pool. Nature took care to surround it with blocks. And the name immediately becomes clear, if you look closely. After a pond in the form of a heart! True, it's too big ...

To the bottom in the bay - six meters. With the sea "Cup" is connected by a relatively small underwater tunnel. Ichthyander in the film went exactly like this and went to his father's house.

Well, local people did not hesitate to come up with a ritual. Before the young people sign at the registry office, they have to make sure that their family will be durable. How to do it? It's simple. Holding hands, both a girl and a young man must jump into this huge "cup". If their hands are dispersed under water, then close to divorce. But no - together for centuries.

Museum at the bottom

Are you an avid fisherman? Then do not pass by. Each spring and autumn of mullet and mackerel have plenty of these coasts. On the cape of Bolshoye Atlesh is a fishing-fish mill. So welcome. And do not forget to repeat: "Catch, fish, big and small."

But fish that live in the sea - a natural thing. But listen to what people have created with their own hands. It from the category of improbable!

In the area of Atlesh water is very clean and unusually clear. Almost distilled! You look from above - and the bottom is visible. Jokers-scuba divers made an "Alley of Leaders" there. Here, and Lenin, and Dzerzhinsky, and Kirov. More precisely, their busts, embedded in the stones. There is a sign next to it. She explains that in August 1992 the museum was opened by someone V. Borumensky. From the shore, sail for about 100 meters - and you'll see for yourself. And over time, the sculptors of Beethoven with Pushkin, Yesenin with Blok, Pyotr Tchaikovsky and others joined the politicians. And they stand among the rocks, overgrown with seaweed, mussels!

Filmmakers from Simferopol realized that the tape about this wonderful museum would be interesting to many. Especially since nowhere in the whole world is there anything analogous.

Scientific discoveries

It's not just lounging here to come to the Tarkhankut peninsula (Crimea), but also to work. It will be interesting to such professionals as a biologist or an archaeologist, a hydrologist and a paleontologist. Somehow scientists saw a fish imprint on one limestone. She obviously swam here a very long time. And was not small - more than a meter long.

Another sensation is when they found a colony of limestone concretions. Directly the museum of paleontology can be opened at the depth of the sea.

Jangul

So briefly locals call a rocky limestone reserve. In fact, it is a landslide coast. Also a miracle of miracles! It is spread over an area of 10 hectares. It looks like this: along the coast for 5 km there are steps, and above them pyramids, pillars rise.

And this is also famous for the Tarkhankut peninsula (Crimea). And the plateau itself for many tourists has become attractive. And is it possible not to love this sea, unusually transparent? Whimsical shores? A beautiful steppe? We add that in small ravines beautiful flowers grow, the grass is green and green.

Valley of ghosts

It happened a long time ago. In 1933, in the summer, local villagers heard an incomprehensible rumbling. What happened? Later it turned out that about one beam (Ternovskaya), the largest limestone (length - 500 m, width - 200 and 35 - height) just slid to the sea.

And again we can note the creative work of nature. As a result of a landslide, the "Valley of Ghosts" formed on the shore. And how else would you call these wondrous figures from the wreckage of the rocks? In some, there are towers and pyramids. In others - sculptures of giants-animals.

But the matter is not finished. The waves continue to grind these sculptures. Or create new ones without stopping to erode the piles of limestone.
