According to statistics for the rest of our lives, each of us eats about 50 tons of food. This list includes vegetables, bread, meat products, and even canned food and sweets - all that the modern food industry supplies us with. And since caring for daily bread is one of the basic human needs, this part of the national economy is very important all over the world.

And including in our country. Therefore, it is not surprising that in the calendar of professional holidays in Russia there is a Day of the Nutritionist.

Let's talk a little about this celebration. There was a Day of the Nutritionist even in the Soviet Union. Like many others, it was officially approved by the Decree of the Presidium in 1966. Then the food industry in the USSR only began to gain momentum and develop at a high rate.
With the collapse of the Soviet Union, almost all the holidays that were established at that time had to be approved anew, and often new dates were chosen for this. One of the few exceptions was the Day of the Nutritionist. The date of its celebration has remained unchanged since 1966. Celebrate it on the third Sunday in October. So, the Day of the Nutritionist of 2013 fell on 19 the number. And in 2014 we will celebrate it on October 21.

Thus, the Day of the Nutritionist unites representatives of such professions as technologists, engineers, tasters and laboratory assistants, cooks and confectioners. All of them make our life more interesting and tasty. And when is this holiday celebrated in other countries? In Ukraine and Kazakhstan, the Day of the Nutritionist is celebrated at the same time as in Russia - both these countries have left its date unchanged since the times of the USSR. But in the rest of the world there is no such holiday. But on October 16, many countries celebrate World Food Day.
