Cultural life of Moscow: Library of Cinema Art. S. M. Eisenstein

Moscow is the ancient capital of Russia and the Russian state. Having ceded this status for two centuries to St. Petersburg, it returned it in 1918. Opening

Library of Cinema Art. SM Eisenstein in Moscow was opened in 2008. The initiative belonged to Mayor Yury Mikhailovich Luzhkov. It became the first public library covering the history and traditions of the national cinema. The opening was timed to coincide with two jubilee dates: the 100th anniversary of the beginning of the national film production in Russia and the 110th anniversary of the birth of the remarkable film director Sergei Eisenstein.

The first materials of the collections of the Library of the Cinema Art. M. Eisenstein became the book of filmmakers from the fund of the Library of Cinematographers in Moscow, transferred to her in 2009 as part of the International Film Festival in Moscow. Now the collection of the library of cinematography totals hundreds of thousands of names of various materials: books, magazines, newspapers, postcards, newspaper clippings, booklets and posters.
