Prehistory

In 2002 a new player appeared on the market of small-size special-purpose vehicles. Its origin was contributed by the Kurgan Engineering Plant, which was previously hardly known to the man in the street. The company's debut was very successful, and it showed up at the beginning of the production of the tractor KMZ-012, the characteristics of which allowed it to quickly join the ranks of well-bought equipment. The unit was positioned as a universal assistant, oriented to work in agriculture and communal environment. The plant, in turn, planned to competently fight against the undisputed leaders of the world market - the Chinese. And I must say that the Russian enterprise succeeded, because for the overwhelming majority of Russian farmers the price of foreign analogues was prohibitive, and the domestic budget option fully met expectations. That is, the rate for low cost and optimal quality was fully justified.

By the way, mini-tractor in such European countries as Romania and Poland, meets as often as similar technology of other world producers. This fact confirms the high performance of the Russian machine and its full compliance with the basic standards and requirements of the present.

Main purpose

KMZ-012 serves for use in a personal farm, in a kitchen garden or in construction. With the help of a tractor it is possible to mechanize a wide range of works, including harrowing, soil cultivation, snow cleaning, hilling of vegetation in the garden and in the field, cleaning of areas. In addition, the machine allows you to develop land, dig up potatoes, mix concrete, mow, carry the transport of solid and loose materials. If we focus only on agriculture, then KMZ-012 is very effective in farm enterprises with an area of up to 5 hectares, where the use of large-sized machinery is associated with high material costs.

The high mobility and compact dimensions of the tractor allow it to work in very cramped conditions (city sidewalks, vineyards, greenhouse complexes). In addition, the possibility of joint operation of the machine with many attachments also significantly increases the scope of application. Among the auxiliary equipment are:

Technical specifications

The instruction of KMZ-012 states that the consumption of consumed fuel is about three liters per 100 kilometers of track. It is worth pointing out that the capacity of the fuel tank is 20 liters, so without a refueling tractor can run a very long period of time.

The presence or absence of a roof and a front linkage ultimately regulates the dimensions of the machine. For example, the length of the unit with these elements is about 2310 mm, width - 960 mm, and height - 2040 mm. The track of the machine is also subject to adjustment if necessary and can be in two versions - 700 and 900 mm. Power unit

KMZ-012, the technical characteristics of which can optionally be completed with its cabin, descends from the production conveyor in several versions, differing from each other by the type of engine being installed.

From the very beginning the tractor was equipped with a four-cycle two-cylinder carburetor engine SK-12, equipped with a cooling system and a fuel pump. The parameters of this engine are as follows:

• Power - 8.82 kW.
• The twisting moment - 24 Nanometers.
• The average fuel consumption is 248 g / l. from. at one o'clock.
• The speed of rotation is 3100 rpm.

Somewhat later, the light saw KMZ-012CH, which was already equipped with a B2-2-07 diesel engine. This engine was developed by the Chelyabinsk Tractor Plant, had the same power as the predecessor, but the cylinders in it are located V-shaped. At the same time, the power of the unit reached 12 horsepower at a speed of 3000 rpm.

Also, KMZ-012, which will be described below, was equipped with an American-made VANGUARD OHV 294447. This high-reliability motor was equipped with the following characteristics:

Constructive elements

KMZ-012 has remained practically unchanged throughout the years of production in terms of basic characteristics and elements.

The front axle of the tractor is made in the form of a swing beam. However, the chassis has a rigid suspension. Two trailers can be hung on the tractor at once, one of which is displaced to 100 millimeters to the right, and the second moves to both sides relative to the carcass of the machine. The movement of the attachments is controlled by the operation of the spool valve.

The driver's seat is installed on the steel elastic springs, and therefore during the operation of the machine the person does not feel any serious discomfort and inconvenience.

Brakes and transmission

The brake system of the tractor is represented by disk wheel units located directly in the body of a single-stage closed gear train. The applied transmission is a mechanical transmission with a four-speed gear-box gearbox, as well as a single-disk dry friction clutch. The running gear allows the car to move forward at a speed of 15 km / h, backwards - 4.49 km / h.

User opinion

KMZ-012, whose reviews are exceptionally positive, is very easy to maintain. In many respects this is due to the fact that the main nodes of the machine are compact, and to reach them, it is only necessary to open the hood and recline the seat. Many owners of the tractor independently repair KMZ-012. In addition, the machine spends only three liters of fuel during processing 10 hectares, which is a good indicator.

As practice has shown, one of the problem points of the tractor is the stuffing box packing gland. Its replacement is accompanied by certain difficulties, which, incidentally, can be solved independently, without the involvement of external experts. Replacing the bearings of the gearbox obliges the user to be able to dismantle the locking spring washers.

As for the cost of mini-tractor, today it ranges from 150 000 to 300 000 thousand Russian rubles.
