Flat roof: application advantages

The flat roof is known for a long time, it began to be used in the 18-19 centuries. We use it in multi-storey buildings. As a rule, this area is not operated in other directions, it only performs the most important function - it blocks and protects the building from external influences.

In connection with the beginning of the development of a market economy in our country, there is a high probability that the flat roofing of buildings will be rationally used. After all, on it, depending on the area, you can put a pool, different green spaces, a solarium, an area for sports and much more.

The main thing is to know from the beginning, for what purposes you want to use this area, in order to calculate the load on the foundation, walls, the roof itself when designing. Perhaps not only in American movies, flat roofs will serve as a landing place for helicopters, but also with city traffic jams and the absence of parking spaces for cars, it will be possible to park cars on the roof. Why not?

It can be operated only if the gradient is correctly selected (so that snow, rain and so on do not accumulate). The main thing - the correct installation of a flat roof, so as not to harm the entire building as a whole!

Due to the fact that the uppermost layer is exposed to ultraviolet radiation, it must be covered with materials resistant to ultraviolet radiation. When laying the usual roof on the flat roofs of the same high-rise buildings, first install a thermal insulation layer, and on top - a waterproofing. And in the roofs, which are going to operate (walk, perhaps, planting gardens), on the contrary, the thermal insulation over the waterproofing layer must be laid.

The material should be chosen water-absorbing. This is the only way to extend the durability and durability of the roof to external factors. Between the waterproofing and the heat-insulating layer, a layer for the vapor barrier is always recommended. Otherwise, from the formation of condensate above the waterproofing layer, the appearance of fungi, mold, which certainly leads to the fact that the flat roof will be eroded.

So this "puff cake" turns out:

1) On the surface of slabs, there must necessarily be a slope, so that water drains in the given direction to the hydrostocks, funnels, trays.
2) Drainage layer, which partially can absorb moisture, but with mandatory ventilation, so that no unpleasant odor will appear.
3) It is desirable to screed from a molten rubberized layer.
4) Waterproofing of flat roofing. The main requirements for it: the ability to withstand mechanical stresses at a temperature drop, and therefore, resistance to compression and stretching, as well as to physical loads, because this roof will be exploited.
5) Thermal insulation layer.

Of course, the most important layer is waterproofing. Today the best materials for waterproofing are the following: extruded polystyrene foam and foamed glass or liquid heat insulation.

It is necessary to make the correct calculation in the design, negative external factors should be taken into account, otherwise everything will go wrong.
