According to media reports, Kovalchuk and Shamalov, Russian oligarchs, are now billionaires with a controlling interest in the Rossiya joint-stock commercial bank. At the very beginning of Putin's career as president, it was the most ordinary and insignificant bank, but then suddenly the state decided to take it under its control. So large cash assets of Gazprom were cheaply bought by the bank, and Gazprom ceased to be a state one.

The relatives of Putin also multiplied their wealth. The shareholder of the bank was Putin's cousin nephew Mikhail Shelomov. His other cousin nephew, Mikhail Putin, took the post of deputy chairman of the board of the largest insurance company Sogaz. Brothers Fursenko. Sergei is a former director of Lentransgaz, now heads the Russian Football Union, the National Media Group, which is controlled by the Rossiya bank. It includes several television channels and the newspaper Izvestia. Andrei Fursenko is appointed Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.
