Coop at the dacha

If you decide to breed chickens for personal consumption, then you need to build a chicken house in the country. Before approaching such a serious matter as building a chicken house in the country, you need to choose a place for him and choose a way of keeping the bird.

You can keep hens in your household plots in several ways: in cages with or without walking, on deep bedding or freely. Each method has its own pluses and minuses, for example, with free content, the chickens themselves get most of the feed, actively move, but there is a high probability that birds can for some reason die or go to the beds.

Sometimes for hens do the walking, separating part of the territory for this. But from such a vagula there is no benefit, because the territory is quickly trampled down and there is no grass, no worms left on it. And in the rain, the paddock turns into mud.

If you are a beginner poultry farmer, it is best to keep chickens on a deep litter with a solarium having a hard surface. The advantage of such a solarium is that it can be constantly maintained in cleanliness, and it is not difficult to build such a chicken coop with your own hands at the dacha.

If the number of birds is small, you can combine the cellular and floor contents. To do this, you need a small insulated room, which installs roosts and nests. Nases should be round, so that the chickens can comfortably clasp them with their paws.

Under the chicken coop in the country, you can adapt the existing shed or build a new one. If you are building a new chicken house in the country, you need to start by installing the foundation. To install it, dig holes and install foundation blocks. Then lay the waterproofing, assemble the lower strap and install the vertical supports. After this, it is necessary to build a rafter system and put the slate.

It is possible to cover the cage with a plastic shield or other covering material from the rain. The floors in such chicken coops are made either by adobe or wooden, but by no means concrete. The floor is laid on the logs, which lie on bricks or concrete pillars. A deep litter of sawdust is poured on the floor. In the upper part of the wall there is a small window. Walls and ceiling need to be insulated with foam or other insulation, and top with boards.

On the south side of the wall a laz is built, through which the bird will enter the cage. The cage adjoins the outer wall closely and is set to a height of 50 centimeters from the ground.

It is not difficult to take care of a bird in such a hen house, as the litter through the grate falls to the ground, where it is periodically cleaned. The chicken coop is electricity, so you can not only light it, but if it is very cold, put the heater. With the onset of cold weather, the laz is closed so that the bird is kept in a warm room all the time. Such a chicken coop at the dacha is not only convenient for keeping birds, but also saves space.

If the construction of a chicken coop in the country is postponed for some reason, you can put a cage with the birds in the greenhouse. It is known that plants in the light absorb carbon dioxide, and the content of chickens in the greenhouse increases the level of carbon dioxide, as in birds the metabolism is very intense. Therefore, some vegetable growers in the spring specifically buy 4-5 four-month-old chickens and hang the cage in a greenhouse for better plant growth.

Chickens in hothouse conditions, too, feel good, they have an increase in egg production. To not smell in the greenhouse, you need to remove the litter in a timely manner, putting a galvanized sheet of iron under the cage, and you can simply sprinkle litter with straw, peat or hayloin every day. When rotting, this multilayer pie gives off additional carbon dioxide, and after composting, it produces a fine organic fertilizer.

It would be nice not only to build a chicken coop with our own hands at the dacha, but also combine it with a recreation area to have fresh eggs for breakfast every day and have the opportunity to observe the birds and admire them.

And if it is planned to contain a large number of chickens, the most effective way will be the installation of cellular batteries - it's easier to take care of birds and create the necessary sanitary conditions for them.
