On this day, they lowered the stone and put a cross on the site of the future church. After that, the very beginning of construction was postponed for about a year.

What was the reason for this? The fact is that until 2011 there was no separate ecclesiastical church on the territory of the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug. It is clear that a temple of this size can only be diocesan. Real construction began after the formation of a separate diocese.

It is clear that the process of construction has complicated the development and coordination of technical documents. The first piles of the temple were slaughtered on December 26, 2011, and they consecrated the newly built St. George the Victorious Church in Surgut in the summer of 2013. The modern big cathedral was erected in fact in a year and a half.
