Christmas in America and in other countries

The majority of the US population are Catholics, which is why Christmas is celebrated in America on the night of December 24 to December 25. This holiday is the largest and most colorful. Preparation for it begins already a month before the cherished date in the calendar. All Americans begin to decorate their homes, lawns in front of the house, put Christmas trees, and shopkeepers and shopkeepers decorate store windows and even the streets in front of their establishment. Cities cease to be boring and sparkle with lights of garlands and toys, as if inviting everyone to participate in the celebration. Some houses are more like works of art than mere Christmas decorations. The roofs of the houses are decorated with sleighs with Santa Clauses, deer and snowmen, from which it is felt from afar that the holiday is just around the corner.

With the onset of the evening it seems that you are transferred to another world or a fairy tale, when all the lights come on. For us, it's a bit strange to look like a dressed tree or a snowman with a background of palms, greens or flowers on the lawn, as we are accustomed to snow and frost, but for Americans it is quite usual. When Christmas comes in America, the Christmas radio station starts to work - it broadcasts various Christmas songs and this station works in almost every home or shopping center. Part of the tradition in America is the writing of greeting cards to all friends, relatives and relatives. Some people in houses have even special stands for the received Christmas cards.

Also understand that very close to Christmas in America can be shopping. It is global! Everyone is trying to buy gifts to all friends and relatives. Traditionally, gifts are candles or body creams. All gifts are colorfully packed and waiting for their time under the tree. Also, there is an active purchase of products for the holidays. Americans are very fond of using during this period Christmas attributes in clothes - everyone in the wardrobe has a sweater, a cap or a vest with a Christmas decoration. In the largest shopping center usually sits Santa Claus, to which a huge line is built not only from children, but also from their parents, grandfathers and grandmothers. Everyone wants to make a wish on this magical holiday, sitting on his knees at Santa Claus. On the evening of December 24, Christmas services begin in all churches. The morning of December 25 is usually the analysis of gifts from under the Christmas tree, walking on guests or going for a walk. That's how Christmas is in America.

A very similar way celebrates Christmas Germany. Preparation for this holiday as well as in America begins about a month, and sometimes for two. On the shelves of shops there are traditional Christmas goods - delicious Christmas gingerbread, Santa Claus from chocolate, Nikolausy and the most important attribute of any Christmas table - Stolen (this is a cake with spices, candied fruits, raisins, prepared one month before the holiday and kept in a dark place) . Despite the fact that this is a very cheerful holiday, Christmas Germany celebrates at home, with the family. All dress up in costumes, either red or dark green. This is a tradition.

How do they celebrate the Slavic Christmas? The main difference is that the Slavic Christmas falls not on December 25, but on January 7. At us this holiday is not so popular, because the main thing is celebrating the New Year. On the eve of Christmas Slavs usually prefer to guess, gather in groups of interests and have fun. This is the period of Christmas carols, which children sing, going to their homes and collecting sweets for them. At Christmas, giving symbolic gifts, the most basic gifts and celebrations are usually already behind, as the New Year has already come.
