Chris Jericho: biography, movies, photos

Chris Jericho, no doubt, is the child of so many talents. Basically, he is known to the world as one of the most successful wrestlers in history. But in addition to fighting, he was always fascinated by music, so in the early 2000s he founded the band Fozzy. But that's not all: the WWE show also revealed Jericho's oratorical talent, subsequently successfully used on radio and television. Also Chris is a writer, to date, all three of his books are very popular. It would be strange if such a multifaceted showman did not try his hand at the cinema. And let Chris Jericho, whose filmography is not yet so extensive, has not yet become a real big screen star, but certainly for sure he has conquered television forever.

The embodiment of a child's dream

The name given to him at birth is Christopher Keith Irvine. The choice of the pseudonym of the future star of wrestling was influenced by the history of the ancient city mentioned in the Bible, Jericho, because he was brought up in a Christian family and is deeply religious person.

Chris Jericho was born on November 9, 1970 in the USA, in Manhasset, New York. His father, Ted Irvine, was an NHL hockey player, so the family moved to Canada, Winnipeg, where Christopher's childhood and adolescence passed. The boy changed a lot of schools, but still got a secondary school, and after that - a higher education. He has a diploma in journalism.

At the age of twelve, the young Canadian decided that he was impressed by two paths - struggle and music. He was inspired by wrestling by Owen Hart, and later at the "Dungeons of Harts" school and the future multiple champion was trained. Chris's debut in professional sports took place in 1990, his first fight ended in a draw. At the beginning of his career, he wandered around the world, speaking in a variety of federations of Europe, America, Asia. He was very popular in Japan, where he found many friends, such as Eddie Guerrero, Dina Malenko and others.

Enchanting success

The next point in the conquest of world fame was the United States. Chris Jericho successfully lit up at ECW, but for a long time he did not stay there - already in 1996 he signed a contract with WCW, where he received two championship titles: television and in the middle weight category. It was at this time Chris' charisma revealed itself most vividly, and he became the darling of the audience.

Three years later, the Canadian has very effectively come to the World Wrestling Federation WWE. August 9, 1999 Chris Jericho appeared in the ring under the new alias Y2J. He asked for Chine's challenge and decided to fight with her for the intercontinental title, because he believed that a woman was unworthy to wear the title of champion, and defeated her. Later, he lost the title several times to other fighters and returned it again.

In the early 2000s, after a series of victories, including in a fight against Dwayne Rock Johnson, Jericho received the title of the first undisputed WWF champion. Further battles came with varying success, and in 2005 the popular wrestler left WWE.

Another dream

At the beginning of the new millennium, another project, which Chris Jericho dreamed of, was realized. Music has always been a part of his life, according to the Canadian. He never threw it, but did not bring it to the professional level. Until he met behind the scenes of WWE with a member of the band Stuck Mojo, whose fan he was, guitarist Rich Ward. The musician was a fan of Chris, among other things, they had common musical tastes and the guys decided to try to play together.

After the injury in the ring (Jericho injured his ankle), the athlete had free time, which he gave completely to his new project - cover band Fozzy Osbourne, later shortening the name to Fozzy. In addition to Chris and Rich, other members of Stuck Mojo - Dan Dryden and Frank Fontzer - joined the band, as well as a certain Ryan Mallam. Artistry, Canadian charisma and excellent vocal data provided the band a great start.

Heavy metal in the blood

Due to the fact that Fozzy originally performed only covers for famous hits, they came up with a legend to stand out among such bands. The essence of it is that Fozzy spent more than 20 years in Japan, and when they returned to their homeland, they learned that many teams became popular by stealing their songs. After removing the video on this legend and running it on MTV, the participants of Fozzy provided increased attention to their self-titled debut album. In the second album Happenstance, released in 2002, it was decided, in addition to covers, to add songs of his own composition. While the group was gaining popularity, its members managed to change several times, but the founders remained constant participants.

The song of Chris Jericho and his band called Enemy, released as a separate single in 2004, was even taken over by the WWE. The third album of 2005 All That Remains became a full-fledged creation of the team, which changed from cover versions to original tracks. Due to the return of the band's main star to the ring, the next studio album was released only five years later.

The conquest of a new peak

A talented Canadian decided to prove himself in yet another field. Becoming the star of television screens on the show WWE and WWF, the wrestler and musician conceived to become an actor. His first test was the television movie "Enemies" in 2006. Like all previous undertakings, this also was a success. But to date, not so many projects, which starred Chris Jericho. Films with his participation: the comedy "Super McGruber", the horrors of "Fema Alibino" and the action movie "Era of the relationship"; And the series in which it can be seen: Z Rock, "In the Cube", "The Real Aaron Stone" and the TV show "But I'm Chris Jericho!".

Second coming

In 2007, the triumphant return of the famous wrestler to WWE took place, before which the audience of the whole country was intrigued by short films in the style of the "Matrix", appearing on TV screens during commercial breaks, they mentioned biblical texts and phrases "The Second Coming" and "He Will Save Us" . During the speech of the current WWE champion, the same phrase appeared on the show. In 2007-2009, he repeatedly participated in battles for different titles, eventually becoming the ninth time Intercontinental champion. Chris Jericho also repeatedly won in team battles, in particular, in 2009 and in 2010. The Canadian has put his own ultimatum: either he wins the title of champion on the PPV Night of Champions, or leaves the WWE. He kept his promise - after losing the fight and getting injured, he left with dignity, having gone on tour with his group.

Ups and downs

Recovering from injury, eminent wrestler decided to return to the show again and did it as usual, completely unique. He again launched strange videos on TV in the fall of 2011, which now featured children with cryptic words. Following were the strange appearances of Chris in January 2012 on the WWE show when he just kept silent and left, and he lost the first fight after the return, because his victory would be too obvious a move. In the same year, in several battles, including the show "WrestleMania" and "Extreme Rules", Chris Jericho lost to Panku. And in 2013 he had several confrontations with Fandango, and with varying success.

If the "WrestleMania" Canadian lost, then in the "Extreme Rules" he came out victorious. A little later, he again met in the ring with his sworn enemy Pank and again lost to him, and after that there were several more devastating defeats, including in the battle for the intercontinental title. In 2014, Chris again returns and continues to successfully perform in WWE and WWF to this day. Throughout his career, the wrestler has become the owner of many titles and awards, he is nine-time Intercontinental champion and the first undisputed champion in the history of WWE, and is not going to stay on track.

Now

To date, Chris Jericho has a lot of classes, and it's completely unclear how he manages everything. The Canadian actor, wrestler, musician also became a writer, releasing as many as three books. He is the hero of several computer games. He also tried himself in hockey, where he showed unexpectedly good results, which is not surprising, because this is a family heritage. Since 2005 he conducted his own show on the radio. Since 2010, the band Chris Fozzy has released three more albums and continues her musical activity. At the moment he lives in Florida with his wife Jessica Lee Lockhart and brings up three children.
