Chinese Apple Tree and Delicacy

Chinese apple - this word combination gives rise to multiple associations. It can be a specific delicacy, as well as a variety of fruit, bearing a similar name. Let's see what can be meant by the phrase "Chinese apple".

Fruit tree

A sweet-billed apple tree, or chinese is a cultivar that really comes from the Celestial Empire. It is small-fruited and blooms very richly. It can not be said that these are the most delicious apples, their taste is rather specific. But they, no doubt, look very effective and are very suitable for canning. Compotes and jams, cooked with these fruits, are unusually well looked, and also have a delicate taste. This is a Chinese apple, which any gardener can grow on his site, attracts insects for pollination. Lush flowering and aroma contribute to an increase in the yield of the entire orchard.

A small (not higher than ten meters) tree with amber-brown branches and a pyramidal crown can be very slightly covered with leaves, while still young. The leaves resemble the leaves of the plum, which is why the apple tree got its name.
The fruits are small, like a puppet, up to two centimeters in diameter. They are assembled in bundles of three or six pieces.
Their color can be yellow with a red barrel or completely red. The plum-tree apple ripens from August to September. It is frost-resistant and undemanding, resistant to attack by pests. It is recommended to cut the crown regularly.

Sweet Chinese apple in caramel

This country surprises not only with its exotic main dishes. China knows how to impress a stranger and unusual desserts. True, in Europe, the authentic cuisine of the East is understood in its own way and is prepared without respect for traditions. But from this Chinese sweet dishes do not become less tasty.
If initially apples in caramel meant simply a small fruit (apple, mandarin, pineapple, banana), strung on a stick and covered with caramel, the European culinary specialists transformed it in their own way. Do you want to try sweets in Chinese? Then dare and prepare the home candied slices of fruit, fried in batter and covered with caramel.

Take four apples - better firmer and sour.
You will also need one hundred twenty-five grams of flour, two hundred grams of powdered sugar, egg, water, baking soda (two teaspoons), four tablespoons of starch, vegetable oil for deep-frying. Peeled apples (in principle, you can take any other fruit with dense flesh) dip into the batter. It is prepared by mixing flour, starch and soda with an egg and a small amount of water. Apples, pre-fried in the dough, dip into hot oil, fry and take out. Remove the excess oil with a napkin. Heat the vegetable oil in a frying pan and put sugar on it. When it melts and becomes a viscous mass (it must be carefully watched so that there is no burning), you should remove the fire. Fried apples cover caramel and cool, lowering into cold water.
