Children's Figure

All, without exception, kids, one day begin to draw heavily. Sometimes they do it at a speed of 20-30 drawings a day. Practicing psychologist, candidate of psychological sciences Baulina Maria is convinced that drawing is of great importance for the child's mental development, despite the fact that many of his works of art resemble a picture painted by Carlson, called "very lonely cock". Even at the beginning of the 20th century, child psychologists decided to use the child's drawing as a mechanism for studying his inner world. The most popular among the developed methods were 3 drawing tests: "Drawing of non-existent animal", "House-tree-man" and "Family drawing".

But, unfortunately, many parents, having got schemes of reading a children's drawing, begin to erroneously evaluate their baby's calf-maliks. So, for example, if a child took and painted the entire sheet with black paint, this does not mean that it is close to depression, although professional tests imply this interpretation in this case. To properly "read" the picture, you need to analyze not one, but a lot of details, with which, necessarily in their totality. In addition, the figure can not be a direct reflection of the child's mental state , he can only to some extent indicate possible deviations in the child's psychological state. Studying the drawing, it is very important to take into account the age, intelligence level and graphic skills of the subject. After the child has finished drawing, it is necessary to talk to him about the drawing, to find out why he drew this or that symbol, he chose this color. Before the "reading" of the image, it is mandatory to clarify the facts from the real life of the baby. It is necessary to type information about what events occur with the child in this period. And still, let's consider the main points, which need to pay special attention in the interpretation of children's drawings. 1. The structure of children's drawings. Of great importance is the location of each character on the sheet. Considering the drawing, pay attention to whether all the members of the family are painted. If the kid forgot someone, then this may indicate that his relationship with the "forgotten" household has a negative character. And having got rid of his presence even on paper, the child subconsciously tries to restore harmony in his feelings. More often the child draws a family without brothers and sisters, explaining this by the fact that he did not have enough space. Perhaps he lacks your attention, and the kid blames other children for it. Equally important is the size of each character. The more space for a particular person, the more significant it is in the eyes of the child. But the position must necessarily be considered in conjunction with the manner of the image. For example, a heavily shaded wolf, which is so large that there is almost no room for a hare, and it does not fit all, speaks of the fear of a youngster in front of this animal. But a big dad in a beautiful hat and a red blown jacket will tell you that this dad is the best and beloved daddy in the world. Psychologists even began joking about this: the less time remains before the approach of the New Year, the more space in the figure takes a bag with gifts. But the location of the characters does not really matter. Spatial perception is not yet fully developed in a small person and it can be difficult for him to orient himself on a piece of paper. More informative is the study of the interaction and the proximity of the painted characters: notice how close the details of the drawing are to each other, if they are family members or acquaintances, then whether they hold hands or the artist has placed them far apart. 2. Graphic features of children's drawings. Today, psychologists have already moved away from the view that the dark color in the child's drawing (black, gray) indirectly indicates the depressed state of the baby, the red necessarily reflects aggressiveness, but the green one will by all means show the patient's satisfactory, calm internal state. And for the most part, practicing child psychologists no longer grasp the heart if they see in the picture a terrible purple spot on the head of the Little Red Riding Hood. All children, being real researchers, show a keen interest in all colors. Thus, when studying black, they note its contrast with respect to white paper. Well, what's the use of painting a sofa with a yellow pencil, if you still can not see anything. Quite another matter is a black pencil: one stroke - and mom and dad will be able to appreciate the talent of the baby. Analyzing the selected colors, you need to pay attention to the pattern of choice. If a child draws himself in green, and next to his mother in the same dress, then this indicates that he identifies himself with her, that is, psychological contact with her mother is very strong. Of great importance is the drawing of characters. The more carefully the child more accurately depicts one or another object, the more importance he attaches to him in real life. Here in the course are various decorations with the help of color or dorisovki some moments. If your baby drew his big eyes on a large head, then decorated them with long eyelashes, and his clothes very carefully and neatly shaded, you can not worry about his self-esteem, she's all right. And vice versa, if the character is depicted purely schematically, then the child in life does not attach much importance to it. In addition, you need to be able to distinguish important details from the usual stereotyped things that the child has learned in the process of teaching drawing. For example, a smile on the face of a terrible aggressive cannibal, nothing will change. Simply the child knows, that "on the face it is necessary to draw a smile". 3. The process of drawing. Observing the very process of drawing, you need to pay attention to: - the sequence of drawing characters; - a sequence of drawing individual parts; - the moments of corrections or erasures; - whether the child returns to already finished objects and details. It is very important to listen to the child's comments about his masterpiece and clarify the name that the author came up with. Simply sometimes, without special explanations it is difficult to understand what the young artist painted. A "house of pirates" and "fairy-tale house of the princess" can look quite the same.
