Car for work: Toyota Aygo

Design

Toyota Aygo was launched in July 2005. Of the features can be identified power steering, equipped with a speed sensor, two airbags , built-in radio with CD-ROM reading and the ability to connect an external MP3 player. In addition, the car is equipped with a heated rear window, as well as a convenient dashboard, installed in such a way that when the steering wheel is positioned on both the left and the right side, it will remain virtually unchanged.

Crash test

Toyota Aygo was awarded four stars during the crash test due to the safety of passengers, increased by means of a system of minimal penetration into the cabin. This system minimizes the risk of injury by using the optimal distribution of forces that occur during the impact.

Characteristics

All models are equipped with one of two kinds of motors.

The first is a three-cylinder engine with a capacity of only one liter. It has a torque of 93 Nm and produces a power of fifty kilowatts. Acceleration 0-100 occurs in 19.9 seconds. The maximum speed is 157 kilometers per hour, fuel consumption is 4.6 liters per hundred kilometers. In addition, the engine has an electronic direct injection system.

The second is a conventional diesel engine with a volume of 1.4 liters.

By default, Toyota Aygo is equipped with only one type of transmission - a five-speed manual gearbox. And optionally can be installed proprietary multifunctional manual transmission, in which there is no clutch.

The model has a front-wheel drive.

In January 2012, the debut of the restyling version of the car took place in Brussels. The basis remained the same, but still many changes were visible even to the unaided eye. The model has a new front bumper and a new falshradiator grille. A similar detail at that time was already available from another car - Toyota Yaris, which, in fact, it was borrowed.

Among other changes in appearance are the appearance of bands of LED lights, new wheel disks and several alternative body colors. Also, the interior color, gear lever and steering wheel have changed.

But both engines and the gearbox have decided to remain unchanged - after all, for daily trips the power is quite enough.

To take or not to take?

The question, of course, is interesting. On the one hand, the Toyota Aygo is an unremarkable car with very average characteristics and functionality. The power of the engine is not too high, so it's hard to drive on such a car. Before friends, they also do not shine - in appearance there are no unique distinctive details.

On the other hand, the model is not designed for races on the tracks or exhibits. It's just a reliable car that can cope without any problems with household tasks - it can comfortably drive to your place of work or make a small long-distance trip. Although its appearance is not luxurious, but still quite attractive - this car evokes a feeling of reliability and coziness.
