Candidiasis of the skin: what is it?

In the microflora of the modern world, fungi are found that can become agents of various diseases, one of which is candidiasis of the skin. Moreover, such fungi are very resistant to both external factors and medicamentous effects. It is known that they feel more comfortable in a "sweet" environment, that is, with a high glucose content. That is why candidiasis of the skin is often observed in people with diabetes.

Often, the cause of this disease may become weakened immunity, so the development of serious infections can give "green light" to the development of the fungus. Any violation in the activity of the immune system is a real threat of the appearance of candidiasis. The risk group also includes young children, pregnant women and people of advanced age.

In this case, the fungus can penetrate both into the mucous membrane and into the skin tissues. As soon as infection occurs, the body begins to actively fight, that is, rejects the alien body, but due to its weakness is not able to completely defeat the infection. The duration of such competition can reach several years, and as a result, either the person will completely get rid of the problem, or the disease will worsen.

The main lesions in candidiasis of the skin include inguinal folds, a zone under the breast and armpits, and even between the buttocks. There are cases of fungus development between the toes, on the feet. The inflamed zone is covered with bubbles of different sizes, which in time only increase. In the end, they burst and form some wound, called erosion. Candidiasis of the skin is characterized by a large enough lesion of dark-red tissue. More rarely, the localization of this disease can be on smooth tissues, and candidiasis of the facial skin also occurs. This is probably the most common problem that especially worries women, as it requires a long and diligent treatment.

If external symptoms appear, you should immediately consult a doctor who will provide qualified help. When diagnosing candidiasis, the material is firstly sown, which is subsequently carefully examined. It is not superfluous to appoint a blood test that detects the presence of antibodies, that is, cells that can fight the fungus.

Candidiasis of the skin: treatment.

If the area of the lesion is insignificant, then the usual means of external use as medicamental nature, and natural herbs and mixtures will perfectly cope with the fungus. And if the candidiasis of the skin is spreading scale and at the same time is accompanied by an increase in body temperature, a visit to the doctor should not be postponed.

Often this disease arises as a rector for the use of antibiotics. Otherwise, it is necessary to conduct a series of surveys in order to identify "weaknesses", that is, an infection or a disease of another type that reduced immunity. The doctor prescribes treatment suitable for each individual case. Usually, only external agents are used first, then the reaction to them is investigated. If there are no visible results, then one must resort to using tablets or injections. In addition to medicines, the patient is prescribed a strict diet, since the body needs strength to fight the fungus. From daily nutrition, sweets should be completely excluded, replacing them with a large amount of protein food.

To prevent such an unpleasant disease, preventive measures should be taken. Firstly, in no case can you decide on antibiotics yourself, because their use must be limited by extreme necessity. Secondly, do not neglect tempering your body and spirit, physical exercises. Finally, when there is a probability of infection with a fungus, it is worth using the help of antifungal agents.
