Buy Outdoor Flooring: Laminate, Parquet Or Parquet Board?

If you are going to put modern floor covering in your house or apartment, many ask a logical question: "Which is better to choose?". The assortment of this product in today's stores is very wide. It is clear that I would like to buy the material of the highest quality and at a lower price. However, before you decide which coverage to choose, you need to familiarize yourself with information about at least a few of them. In this article, we will only talk about three types of finishing material for the floor, as the most popular among consumers.

Piece of parquet

This material is probably one of the most classic (at least among those we will talk about). Piece parquet is, without a doubt, one of the most expensive materials for finishing the floor. Of course, it is very durable and durable, because it is made of natural wood. Actually, the last circumstance for many consumers is of great importance. Stacking a piece of parquet is not an easy task, requiring professional knowledge and skills.

It only seems that there is nothing easier to put the strips in parallel, perpendicular to each other or "Christmas tree", and then nail. Firstly, before the installation it is necessary to carry out preparatory work: to execute the concrete screed of the floor, to prime, to align. Secondly, after a long and tedious laying of the parquet, you need to work on its cycle and polishing - only this floor can be made even. Thirdly, the masters have to varnish the surface.

Nevertheless, after some time, the coating will need a new cycle, polishing and varnishing. And, perhaps, a new fit of some of the bars to each other, because in time they swell from the humidity, then they shove and fall. As a result, crevices are formed between the boards, in which dust and dirt get stuck. The piece parquet is made only from hardwoods, that is very expensive. If you want to buy a floor covering of this type, you will have to fork over both the material and the stowage.

Parquet board

Parquet board, in spite of the name, has no special relation to the parquet floor. And they call it that because the visually ready floor of this type is often similar to parquet. However, the "design" of the parquet board is different from the parquet: each bar is made of three layers of natural wood glued to each other across the fibers. Of course, these slats are much larger in size than the piece "parquet". In this case, they can be made in the form of one strip, two or three.

As the top layer of the parquet board use solid wood species, featuring an attractive pattern: oak, ash, beech, maple, wenge, merbau, etc. But the other two layers are made from coniferous trees. First, it's cheaper, and secondly, their goal is to protect the future floor from deformation due to moisture and temperature changes in the house (which, by the way, is inherent in piece parquet). Curiously, the parquet board is very easy to assemble and fit because the panels are large, and they are easily connected to each other. If you were lucky enough to buy flooring of this type, rejoice: the finished floor does not need to be processed! The surface is varnished in production.

Laminate

Laminate (or laminated parquet) is even further away from piece parquet, as its structure is more complicated than even a parquet board. This material is much cheaper than the two, about which we have already spoken, because it is completely artificial. But do not be in a hurry to be disappointed in it! The fact is that it is devoid of most of the drawbacks inherent in parquet and parquet board. It has a high resistance to abrasion, is not afraid of shocks, falling matches and cigarettes, spilled tea, coffee, wine, does not burn out under the influence of sunlight, etc.

From natural flooring it differs in that it imitates them very accurately. It is based on a high-density fiberboard (HDF), which is made of compressed wood fibers. Below it is resin-impregnated paper that protects HDF from moisture and stabilizes the coating. On the plate is also glued a special paper (or furniture foil), which performs a decorative function: it simulates some kind of natural wood, stone or tile. The topmost layer is protective (acrylic or melamine resin), it gives the surface a high wear resistance.

Just like a parquet board, a laminate is easy to assemble and fit (within half an hour, if you do not need to prepare the base). After laying the floor you can immediately use it! This coating is called the sex of the future, because it is inexpensive, but it does not differ from the natural in appearance. Harmful substances, too, does not distinguish! Laminate, however, has one drawback: it is afraid of water. Nevertheless, today, manufacturers are successfully combating this problem by covering the wax joint with a wax and preventing moisture from getting inside. So you can buy moisture-resistant laminate today, if you want to put it, for example, in the kitchen.
