Boarding school - this is a special educational institution for children under the age of majority, which has the possibility of a 24-hour stay of students. Such educational institutions are being created with the aim of assisting families in the upbringing of the younger generation, as well as raising the level of social protection of children and developing their giftedness.

In our country there are the following types of boarding schools: ordinary, in-depth, boarding schools, gymnasiums, boarding schools-lyceums. They differ not only in the teaching of disciplines, but also in the contingent of recruited students who need state custody. Children from ordinary families who do not have general education schools can also be trained here.

A regular boarding school gives students all the knowledge that they receive in full-time schools. That is, students go through all three levels of education: primary, basic middle and full secondary. In such an orphanage, children who are left without parents for one reason or the other, or children from disadvantaged families, are usually placed .

A boarding school with in-depth study of subjects is created for gifted children with a creative and scientific mindset. For example, there are physical and mathematical boarding schools, which recruit children-winners of various olympiads. The competitive basis of admission to such educational institutions allows to recruit children with special abilities into the boarding school.

Also in our country there are special boarding schools for disabled children and those who are limited in development. It is, for example, special educational institutions for visually impaired, hard of hearing, etc. The program of such an educational institution is created on the basis of special methods designed to ensure that the disabled child finds his place in society and, in spite of the ailment, did not feel like an outcast .

A special role in the upbringing of the younger generation is played by the types of boarding schools for children who are not yet supposedly at risk. Their main role is to protect adolescents from the harmful influence of the environment and to give the mentally unstable child to survive and not commit criminal acts.

Boarding school - a paid institution. The fee is levied on the parents or their substitute persons. In addition to teaching, children are provided with appropriate clothing, textbooks and other necessary supplies. On weekends and holidays, upon application of adults, pupils can go home.

Graduates of boarding schools, where orphans are being brought up, must find employment.

A special place among educational institutions with a 24-hour stay is the Cadet boarding school. The main contingent recruited for such a school is children from low-income families, orphans and those who are in care. The program of the institution of this type is designed for boys who, for health reasons, are ready to go along with the usual school subjects of military discipline. The infrastructure of the cadet boarding school differs somewhat from the usual one. There must necessarily be a parade ground, a sports town, at least two paramilitary areas with obstacle courses, as well as a separately allocated territory for the deployment of military equipment, a shooting range and an auto class.

Cadet boarding school provides an additional aesthetic education. Pupils have the opportunity to study choreography, study in theater studios, play music and draw. But the main activity of the educational institution of this type is military-patriotic education, associated with the formation of the individual, which in the future will be ready to stand up for the defense of the fatherland.
