Biography of Timur Mutsurayev and his work

Timur Mutsurayev's biography interests not only residents of his native Chechnya, but also representatives of other nationalities, as the famous singer performs his songs in Russian, familiar to the majority in the territory of the former Soviet Union.

School years

Timur Mutsuraev was born on June 15, 1976 in the city of Grozny. Like all Soviet children, at the age of seven he went to school (No. 30). His favorite occupation in youth was sports. The persistent training of Timur brought more than a tangible result. At the age of 15 (in 1991) Mutsurayev became the champion of the Chechen-Ingush ASSR in karate. Less than a year after this the Autonomous Republic ceased to exist.

War with Russia

Timur Mutsurayev's biography is directly connected with one of the most bloody wars of the 20th century. She also had a tremendous impact on his work. The tragedy that happened in Chechnya turned his whole life.

11.12.1994 the First Chechen conflict began. Before this passion was heated to the limit twice. The first time - in November 1991 after Yeltsin's attempt to introduce a state of emergency in the republic . The second one was in 1992, when during the suppression of the Ossetian-Ingush conflict Russian troops almost entered Chechnya.

All these events of the future singer did not leave indifferent. In the first Chechen war Mutsurayev took an active part, fighting on the Central Front on the side of the Islamists. In one of the bloody battles in the village of Serzhen-Yurt the singer gets a serious wound, as a result of which he remains without a leg.

Creativity of the singer

"Welcome to Hell" is the first musical album recorded by Timur Mutsuraev. Biography (photo by Timur, by the way, you can see above) as the songwriter began exactly during the First Chechen War. This album was recorded by him in 1995, at the height of the conflict. Its name is not just symbolic. It was this inscription that could be seen at the entrance to the once peaceful and prosperous Grozny.

The songs of the Islamist Mutsurayev, of course, are primarily patriotic. Another of their characteristic features is a deep metaphorical character. They are as if called to take the listener out of the bloody terrible reality. Confirmation of this can be seen even in the title of the third album of the singer ("Paradise under the shade of sabers"). Singer Timur Mutsurayev in his compositions constantly calls the listener to the quiet abode of Allah, its streams, magical gardens and beautiful virgins. Perhaps, this is a manifestation of the religious views of the fighter for independence. However, this can also be interpreted as a desire to return to the past. That is, at a time when relations between people were completely different, the other was the native pre-war Grozny.

Timur Mutsurayev's biography is indirectly connected with cinema. Two compositions of the singer can be heard in the popular Russian film "War" by Alexei Balabanov. These are the songs "Jerusalem" and "Shamil leads the detachment".

After the war

During the war Mutsurayev lost not only his leg. He lost his homeland, where he is now considered a state criminal.

According to one of the popular sites on the network, on 15.05.2008 Mutsurayev, currently hiding from the Russian authorities, came to Chechnya to meet with Ramazan Kadyrov himself. However, a little later the agency that disseminated this information denied it. Although the fact that the original information was true, it is quite possible. The fact is that by June 2008 Timur himself had recorded two songs, this time in the Chechen language, in the text of which there were references to his personal meeting with the President of Chechnya.

Some of Mutsurayev's songs are recognized by the Russian authorities as extremist. Words for such works were written not by himself, but by Aslan Yarichev. Timur himself mostly writes texts on the topic of nationalism. None of the songs with poems written by him personally are not forbidden to audition or rewriting in any of the countries of the world. Timur Mutsurayev's biography clearly demonstrates the fate of the generation of Soviet Chechen schoolchildren, left alone with a terrible tragedy - a war that destroyed their lives.
