First steps

In an ordinary, completely unsportsmanlike family (both parents are architects), on August 3, 1986, Dasha Domracheva, the future star of the world biathlon, is born in Minsk. In 4 years, Daria's parents moved to a small Siberian town of Nyagan. It would seem, what are the prerequisites for playing sports in such a city. It is clear that the Siberian climate initially pushes children to engage in ski sports. However, Daria made her first sporting choice in favor of basketball. And only then, under the influence of her older brother, Daria started skiing. And biathlon appeared in her life only in 1999.

After school, Daria entered the Tyumen University at the Faculty of Sports Management. In 2003, the Domrachev family decided to return to their native Belarus, and Daria received a diploma of higher education already in BSEU at the Department of Tourism Management. The theme of the thesis is "Advertising in the tourism industry."

Professional career

The beginning of the professional career in biathlon with Daria Domracheva took place in the Russian team. Already at the level of junior performances, the high potential of the sportswoman was understandable. But that competition, which reigned at that time in the Russian team, did not allow to hope for a place in the basic composition of the adult team. And in 2004, Daria decides to continue her professional career in the Belarusian team. The first international launches under the flag of Belarus took place in 2005. And already in 2006, at the age of twenty, Daria debuted at the biathlon World Cup stages. At the end of the season in total, Darya was 16th place, that for the debutant of competitions of this level, a fairly high result.

In the future, the results are growing. Daria quite regularly falls into the top ten strongest, it would seem, up to the pedestal to give. But Daria contrives at the cup stage in Oberhof to do the unthinkable: in the lead in the race, Daria mistakes with the order of the shooting and instead of shooting lying doing it from standing position. As a result, Darya is disqualified, and a possible victory swims to the rivals. This unfortunate failure did not affect the final place in the World Cup 2008-09. Domracheva finished the sports year in third place. By the way, the embarrassment, like Oberhof, happened in the career of Domracheva again. Again speaking in Oberhof, Daria managed to shoot at someone else's target.

The 2011-2012 season brought her the first medals of the World Cup. Daria won silver in the mass start and, along with other Belarusian girls, became the bronze medalist of the relay race.

This season was held in the struggle of two biathlon stars Magdalena Neuner and Daria Domracheva. Where the German took speed, Daria responded with more accurate shooting. After the end of the career of the German biathlonist, it would seem that Domracheva will not have rivals on the track. However, again the second place in the overall World Cup standings. But a real triumph was waiting for Daria ahead.

Dasha Domracheva is a champion. Olympic triumph

Sochi Winter Olympics in 2014 finally raised Daria Domracheva to the rank of the greatest athletes of our time. The first gold medal was earned in the pursuit race at a 10 kilometer distance. And the break from the second round ended Berger was 38 seconds. Three days later, a new victory - in an individual race for 15 kilometers with a one and a half minute gap from the nearest rival.
