The word "bath" came to us from the German language. Long ago, the so-called capacity (or tank), designed for bathing and for taking special medical procedures. Now almost every apartment has a so-called bathroom, that is, a room where a person can wash or, otherwise, say, take a bath. The bath itself is an integral part of the interior of this room. Without it, even the name of the room itself becomes meaningless. Now we need to know more about all about cast iron baths, opinions and opinions about them.
Variety of species, advantages and disadvantages
Baths by type of material are:
- Metal;
- Wooden;
- Plastic;
- Ceramic;
- Acrylic.
In turn, metal baths are:
- Steel;
- Cast iron.
- The complexity of processing the source material. Cast iron is an alloy of iron, carbon and other elements. The casting of such a composition is a rather complicated process in the technical sense. This excludes the possibility of producing products of various forms and modifications, so most often cast-iron baths are the same.
- Significant mass. Baths made of cast iron are much heavier than similar products made from other materials. Such things are difficult to transport, and the editing process is much more complicated.
- Finishing the product. Cast-iron baths are usually covered with a layer of enamel. This material can undergo various deformations during use. As a result of sharp blows, cracks and chips appear on it, which spoil the appearance of the product and thus shorten its service life.
- High price.
Those who in practice used cast iron baths, reviews can give for each of the listed items.
- High heat capacity. This bath is heated for a long time, and the water in it will slowly cool down. It is very convenient for taking water procedures.
- Low noise level. Under the noise is meant the sound that the water emits when it falls. Thick walls of the product do not vibrate under the action of pouring streams of liquid, so these baths are sometimes also called "quiet".
- Enamel, evenly covering the surface of the bath, gives it a perfect shine and a fairly presentable look.
When buying a cast iron bath, it is better to ask for responses not only from consumers, but also from specialists. Those who decided to establish domestic production, should know a few significant differences from similar models of foreign brands.
First, our industry produces products with thicker walls. This increases their strength and durability, but at the same time significantly increases the construction. Import models are much thinner (less than 5 mm) and much easier.
Secondly, the quality of coverage of domestic models is very different from foreign models, and not for the better.
Thirdly, the design solutions of imported baths are more diverse, while ours are made according to the models approved in Soviet times. They are more like a normal trough, rather than a comfortable and elegant piece of furniture.
