Atopic dermatitis

Atopic dermatitis or diathesis is a cutaneous manifestation of an allergy that is caused by toxins. This disease is allergic in nature, that in our not completely ecologically "clean" time is not particularly surprising.

Atopic dermatitis (in translation from Greek - foreign on the skin) is a consequence of the genetic predisposition of the body to the production of excess or excess immunoglobulin E. It occurs as a result of contact with allergens.

Atopic dermatitis (or allergic) begins usually during the first months of a person's life, often it continues in adulthood. In families, where the tendency to allergic diseases is traced, children get sick much more often. Passes this allergic disease to fifteen years. However, if this does not happen, it may well be that the disease has already passed into a chronic stage. Sometimes it leads to fungal, infectious and bactericidal complications, often the eyes become inflamed.

Nine of every thousand people doctors diagnose - diathesis, or, as is often called in another way atopic dermatitis, eczema. Its manifestations have the property of varying from one to another person. The most common symptoms in atopic dermatitis are itching and dry skin, rash, cracks in the skin of the face, legs and hands. The itching sensation is the most obvious sign of this disease, and scratches and cracks appear during the scratching of the skin due to its grinding.

Atopic dermatitis on the face occurs most often, and sometimes itching can suddenly start, and rashes will appear later. Skin, which is affected by eczema or diathesis, looks red and dried.

Not so long ago, doctors believed that atopic dermatitis, the causes of which have not been fully revealed, can be provoked by the emotional state of a person, but today it is already known for certain that the cause of this disease can not be stress, but aggravate the disease in the state. According to doctors, this disease is associated with such atopic disorders of the human body as asthma or hay fever. And although none of them can be caused by another, but they may well be related to each other.

Treatment of atopic dermatitis, primarily due to the reduction and relief of itching and burning. Since the skin with this disease has a property to be strongly dried, first of all it is necessary to use various creams that can remove inflammation and moisturize the skin. Very effectively, such creams and ointments work after the bath, in which you can add various herbal decoctions to normalize the hydrolipid state of the skin.

To reduce itching, cold compresses, antihistamines, are very helpful.

Relapses that occur with atopic dermatitis, if not prevent, then at least relieve, if you follow certain doctor's instructions:

  • Moisturize the skin;
  • Do not allow temperature changes;
  • Avoid strong sweating;
  • Do not wear synthetic clothes;
  • Do not eat foods that can cause irritation or allergies;
  • Do not come in contact with clean wool;
  • Do not use hygiene products that can cause allergies;
  • do not be nervous.

Sometimes people suffering from atopic dermatitis are adversely affected even by chlorinated water, so it is best to let it settle for a while for washing. Another patient should avoid any floor coverings that absorb dust, feather or feather pillows. Wash things such a person needs about a sufficiently high temperature for the complete destruction of any microbes, including dust mites.

And although all of the above can not cure atopic dermatitis without the use of drugs, but to facilitate the course of the disease and make the life of the patient a little more joyful, relieved of the constant itching of burning, it is quite possible.
