AS Pushkin, "On the Hills of Georgia": an analysis of the poem
AS Pushkin "In the hills of Georgia" wrote in the summer of 1829. This is one of the poems dedicated to his wife Natalia Goncharova. The work is filled with sadness and hope for a bright future at the same time, because it was written after the unsuccessful matchmaking of the poet. His future wife Alexander Sergeyevich met on one of the balls, and she won him with one glance only. Pushkin understood that he could get a refusal, so he sent the marriage proposal to the bride's parents along with his friend Fyodor Tolstoy-the American. In response, he received a refusal, reasoned by the girl's youth.
It was in the Caucasus that Pushkin wrote "On the Hills of Georgia". The poem begins with the fact that the hero stands on the bank of the Aragva River, but his thoughts are in distant Moscow, where the beautiful bride has remained. The poet confesses that he is "sad and easy", such feelings can be explained by the rejection of the girl's parents and the author's firm conviction that he will achieve his goal and marry Natalia. Separation Alexander Sergeyevich perceives as temporary circumstances and difficulties, which you just need to wait out.
The poet does not care at all about the fact that he does not know Natalya Goncharov well enough, and during the meeting they exchanged only a couple of minor phrases. It does not bother him that a young girl is unlikely to have any feelings for him. Alexander Sergeyevich firmly believes that his love is enough to create a strong and happy family. In his premonitions, Pushkin was not deceived. On the hills of Georgia, his fate was practically realized, because it was in the Caucasus that he decided to finally link his fate with Goncharova.
