Art-nouveau style in architecture, painting and interior. How does art-nouveau appear in ornamentation, catering or decorations?

Smooth lines, mysterious patterns and natural shades - so you can characterize the art nouveau style, which captivated the whole of Europe in the late nineteenth and early twentieth century. The main idea of this direction is life in harmony with nature. The current became so popular that it embraced all creative professions.

How it all began

For a long time representatives of creative professions in their works copied the historical styles of the past. This gradually led to a decline and a crisis. And now at the turn of two centuries new views on art appear, which in different countries have received a variety of names - art nouveau, Velde style, modernism, modernism, secession, Tiffany style. Of course, such views did not arise on their own. Japanese art has had its influence.

In 1856 the Frenchman Felix Braccon was fascinated by Japanese engravings on tea-bags. Amazing nature, refined women, the cult of the sun ... It inspired the painter to create absolutely new paintings, where the rounded forms and natural shades dominate. The independence of forms and colors, expressive silhouette and whimsical contours very soon appeared in the works of other artists.

In 1890, in England, a movement that propagates a new art, oriented to ornamentation, is born. Formed whole schools adherents of the "new style" or, as it is called, art nouveau.

In harmony with nature

Very soon the ideas of the "new style" are penetrated by masters of not only painting, but also architecture, interior design, jewelry craft.

Each of the directions has its own characteristics, but there are also common features:

  • Absence of straight lines and angles.
  • Round shapes, there is no sharpness in geometry.
  • Natural shades and colors: bog, brown, green, blue, gold, silver.
  • In all there are plant elements - branches, vines, grasses, flowers. The main symbol of style is the flower cyclamen in all its manifestations.
  • An image in the patterns of representatives of the animal world.
  • Cult of a woman with long hair.
  • Use in work of the most different materials.

Creative potential

Art nouveau to many creators "untied their hands" in terms of self-expression. Classics and clear standards have come to the fore. The main thing in art is the innovative approach, its vision of nature and man. Down with imitation! A lot of works done in this technique are so unique that at first glance it is difficult to say that this is the work of a person ...

Art nouveau style in the interior

The design of an apartment, house or dacha, carried out in this style, will suit creative and non-ordinary people who love nature in all its manifestations.

The main emphasis in the interior is on the lack of straight lines and even corners of rooms. They are all visualized and obscured. Windows, doors and doorways maximally round and decorate with natural ornament.

Ornaments in the style of art nouveau - refined girls, reminiscent of mermaids, elements of flora and fauna - suitable for decoration as living rooms and children's rooms, and bathrooms and kitchens.

The material for registration is used very differently. It can be a combination of metal, stone, wood. Actively introduced into the interior glass, especially matte or stained glass. Floors in rooms are often made at different levels. A fireplace (natural or imitation) must be present.

Feature in the details

Of great importance are the interior details: modeling on the ceiling, stairs and arches, as well as accessories - lamps, paintings, table lamps. Particular attention is paid to the bizarre forms of mirrors and huge furniture with rounded details, decorated with flowers and leaves. Furniture should emphasize the main intention of the designer - reunion with nature. The works of Eugene, Galli, Louis Majorelle, Victor Prouvé differ in originality and sensuality.

Art Nouveau in the interior is a complete composition, where all the elements and details complement each other. There is no brilliance and brightness, a calm atmosphere reigns around.

New Architecture

The penetration of style into architecture entailed the appearance of new building technologies. Apply materials such as glass and metal, reinforced concrete, facing ceramics. Willingly used structural elements - stairs, poles, balconies, wooden beams, terraces. Roofs are performed in the form of folds, bends, cracks, shells. Walls and windows are decorated with moldings and cornices. Particular attention is drawn to modeling on the walls in the form of vegetation and women with loose hair.

Art-nouveau style in architecture is known to the world by the works of Victor Ora (he first applied the ideas of style in construction). Bearing structures of iron, he performed in the form of plants, which not only attracted attention, but also caused delight.

Familiar for us entrance metro pavilions saw the world thanks to the architect Etoru Guimaru. The same principle was used to build covered markets and pavilions for celebrations. Often the style of that era was also called the "Metro style".

All the buildings of that time can hardly be called man-made, so harmoniously they fit into nature.

Jewelry Art

A peculiar stagnation comprehended in the late nineteenth century and jewelers. The fact is that for jewelry used expensive, natural metal. And, of course, such accessories were available only to the well-to-do strata of the population. Attempt of jewelers to use in their works more cheap material has not crowned with success, and even more - led to the decline of craft.

The flourishing of the filigree skill coincided with the work of the Czech painter and artist Alfons Mucha. The jewelers were inspired by the unusual ornaments with which Alphonse adorned the women on their placards. Soon he began to develop sketches of jewelry to order. Some of them are works of the famous Parisian jeweler Georges Fouquet. His most famous work on the sketches of the Fly is a bracelet in the form of a snake.

Since then, the cost of jewelry is not valued, but artistic style, design intent. In place of expensive diamonds come semiprecious stones - opals, tourmaline, chalcedony, aquamarines. The favorite technique was enamel.

Jewelry takes on a more sensual character. Among the motifs - naturalistic themes: flowers, insects, animals and reptiles.

Graceful nymphs and mermaids

Only this way one can characterize the painting of the Art Nouveau period. Ornament, depicted on the canvases, captivates with its naturalness and uninhabited character. The main focus of the works of artists is a female body with rounded forms, loose hair and extraordinary beauty. Desire and tenderness, provocation and passion, excitement and innocence - how many feelings emit art-nouveau paintings!

Chanting of female beauty came after the appearance of posters and posters of a Czech painter - A. Mukha. For a long time staying in the shadows, he finally revealed himself as a true master of his craft! The response to his work was the work of Voller, Klimt, Hoffmann, Gauguin, Denny and other famous artists. In Russia, the painting of the "new style" is represented by the paintings of P. Bonnard, M. Vrubel, V. Vasnetsov, K. Somov.

The canvases depicted a woman in tandem with unusual creatures. Very clearly you can trace the cult of the sun - in many works the background is transferred in the form of a circle decorated with flowers. Do not cease and all the same natural motifs: shells and peacocks, stems and flowers, leaves and waves. Particular attention was paid to form, not content.

Art Nouveau Catering

The concept of "catering" has appeared relatively recently and for many remains unclear. However, in all hidden and incomprehensible simple things lie. From English catering is translated as "general food" and is a catering service for banquets and events. In other words - an out-door restaurant. Cooking, serving, serving and serving has now become available outside food establishments.

Catering companies - this is the clarity and coordination of work, this organization of the holiday from beginning to end, including the decoration of the hall and cleaning.

Such organizations provide several types of services:

  • Cooking in the room. Special banquet halls are used for this.
  • Catering in nature. Basically, these are wedding ceremonies and murals.
  • Delivery of corporate lunches to the office, to the conference, meeting.
  • Outlet bar (drinks only).
  • Social catering - restaurant services, but on the customer's equipment.

The cost of the services of such companies depends on the level of service. Of course, social catering will cost cheaper than VIP catering.

On average, companies charge 2,500-3500 rubles per person, while the order must be at least 10 thousand rubles.

Wedding banquets in the nature are very popular nowadays. After all, even the most elite restaurant is not able to replace the shore of the sea, river or forest edge. It does not matter where the celebration will take place, the level of holding is important.

Having entrusted the "main event of life" to catering companies, the owners and guests will remember the holiday for a long time: the decorations, furniture and utensils will be carefully chosen in the desired style. Everything is held at the highest level, as if in the best American films.

A few words in conclusion

The art-nouveau style did not last long after its dawn. After a couple of decades, this trend in art was found in the mannerisms and the absence of nature. It is replaced by sharpness and geometry.

Representatives of creative professions, although they stopped working in the "new style", he still did not sink into oblivion. In our time, this art again becomes popular.

Naturalism is always in fashion

New technologies and a variety of materials allow architects and designers to create unique things. The country houses from a natural tree which by the appearance and an interior from within re-unite with the nature and give a sense of harmony and rest are in demand. Naturalism, promoted art nouveau, will never go out of fashion.

Actual in the design of the rooms were arches, forged and cast staircases with a lot of leaves and curls, as well as intricate and unordinary ceilings. The elements of handmade decoration - lamps, candlesticks, vases - are in great demand. An integral part of the interior was living flowers, ranging from small violets and ending with exotic palm trees and other plants.

Sought this style in our bathrooms. Rounded shells, whimsical baths and showers not only attract originality, but also significantly save space in this room.

"New style" is a historically valuable and original phenomenon. Thanks to him, representatives of creative professions were given the opportunity to express themselves, to be individual and not like others.
