Apostille In Documents

The beautiful word "apostille" is a special stamp that special bodies place on official securities of a non-commercial nature issued by the institutions of the States parties to the convention in The Hague. This convention was devoted to leveling the requirements for the legalization of official securities of foreign countries. This agreement was signed on October 5, 1961. Apostille as a stamp just confirms the valid signature and the role in which the person who signed the papers acted.

It arose as a universal procedure for confirming the legality of foreign documents. Unlike legalization, which is carried out by consulates, this procedure spends less time, and documents with an apostille operate in different countries, and not only in one. In order for your documents to enter into force abroad, they must go through the apostille procedure, unless there is an agreement between our countries to abolish the legalization procedure.

Which bodies in Russia have the right to apostille?

In Russia, the state has the right to apostille the following bodies:

- Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation - documents on military service;

- Ministry of Justice - for all documents of an official nature issued by public authorities;

- The Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Science and Education - on archival extracts, certificates, copies;

- REGISTRY OFFICE - on all documents registering acts of civil status;

- Ministry of Internal Affairs and Prosecutor General's Office.

How exactly does the apostille look like documents ?

Apostille is essentially an ordinary stamp of 10 by 10 centimeters, it is placed either on the document itself, or on a separate special paper that is stitched together with the document.

The Ministry of Education only apostille the original documents of education (certificates, diplomas, supplements to them, certificates). Copies with apstil are not recognized as valid. Pay special attention - documents must correspond to the state model, which is adopted on the territory of the country at the time of issue of the document.

All about apostille on birth certificate

It is necessary to put a confirmation stamp on the certificate, it is not discussed, and two countries demand it, both Russia and the country where you live. On the certificate you will put a stamp only in the registry office, where you received it, in no other. If you go there is problematic, you can do it with a power of attorney.

It is put not directly on the certificate, but on a sheet of additional paper that stitches together with the original, if your certificate is in the form of a book. If the document is paper, the stamp is placed on its back clean side.
