An original flower shelf with your own hands. Tips for manufacturing and design

Apartments florist amateurs often turn into real greenhouses, because the breeding of domestic plants - a very exciting activity. Sometimes the number of potted plants becomes so great that they not only interfere with each other, but also infringe the living space of people, flooding themselves with the entire free area, especially in the window area. In such cases, there is a sharp need for rational and proper placement of plants so as to maintain a favorable environment for their life and at the same time create a cozy and comfortable atmosphere for living in people's homes. As a rule, plants occupy the area of the window sill and the window zone, closing the passage of light into the room, thereby reducing the level of illumination of the room. To avoid this, special shelves are built with additional artificial lighting, which are placed in different corners of the room, using free areas and matching them with the style decision and design of the room.

A beautiful stand or shelf for flowers, made with your own hands , can easily become an ornament of any room. There are many kinds of such shelves, but the number of their forms is still limited. The most common are four. Firstly, in the form of a ladder, which is located near the wall or on the window, and can also imitate a real staircase that leaves under the ceiling, with decorative rails and steps, on which are placed flower pots. And, contrary to the wide opinion, such a ladder does not take up much space, because it can be quite steep. Secondly, different types of bookshelves, assembled from curly slats, woven from vines or made of glass elements, on which are attached baskets or shelves for plants. Thirdly, these are ordinary small shelves or wicker pots-baskets attached to the wall at different levels. Fourthly, vertical racks, which are fixed to the floor and ceiling and placed on their height of mountings for pots.

Wooden shelves for flowers make it very easy. They can be installed on the floor in a multi-level bench or suspended on the wall using brackets. It is important to choose the correct thickness of the board so that it will withstand the weight of the flower pot and not bend. To keep the wooden surface and not deteriorate under the influence of water, the flower shelf, made by hand, is painted with a water-repellent paint. Wooden parts are joined together by screws and glue. It is important to protect from moisture the wall on which the flower arrangement will be placed. One of the most suitable materials for decorating a flower corner is an artificial stone or granite that covers part of the wall where a flower shelf will be placed, made by hand.

To make a designer floral stand, hollow tubes made of multi-layer cardboard, on which rolls of linoleum are wound, are good. In building stores they are thrown away, and they are a wonderful material for design ideas. How to make a stand for flowers from such tubes? They are cut to lengths of different lengths, which are set vertically close to each other. Low tubes are installed next to higher ones so that pots with plants can be placed on different levels, and connected to each other with liquid nails. Previously, the surface of the tubes should be decorated with a thick rope, cloth, various synthetic coatings, or painted in an original way (for example, imitating the bark of a tree). The interconnected parts will be the base of the stand. They are topped with round caps, which serve as shelves for pots. Especially beautiful on such a multilevel stand are plants with different crown heights and green "waterfalls" dropping down. It turns out a beautiful and inexpensive shelf for flowers.

You can create many different designs with your own hands, but remember that the shelf, located at the far end of the room, must necessarily be equipped with a light source. In specialized stores, they sell lamps for flowers, with a lamp of suitable power and with a directional light flux.
