The almond nut is unpretentious, it perfectly tolerates heat and frost, is resistant to drought and light-loving, therefore it has perfectly taken root practically on all territory of the globe.

There are two kinds of almonds: bitter and sweet. Bitter almonds are used for making almond oil, which goes to the production of beverages and liquors (for example, Amaretto), as well as cosmetics and perfumes. A sweet nut is one that we are accustomed to eating. From it prepare various confectionery products and also add to cosmetics and perfumes.

Almond contains 53% of fat, 22% of nitrogenous substances, 12% of nitrogen-free substances, 7% of water and 4% of fiber. It is one of the most valuable sources of B vitamins, which help to build new cells, normalize metabolism, improve the condition of teeth, hair and skin. Vitamin E, also found in large quantities in almonds, helps the body prevent the destruction of cells, which in turn prevents the appearance and development of malignant tumors. Also, vitamin E helps to increase the elasticity of the skin, eliminates small wrinkles, makes it velvety to the touch. The structure of almonds includes phosphorus, potassium, calcium, magnesium, which help to adjust the work of the cardiovascular system. Do not forget about how useful nuts are for the brain. Just a couple of nuts every day, and you will always have an excellent memory and clarity of mind.

But we must not forget about the harm that bears almonds. First, you can not in any case eat bitter nuts, because they contain poisonous hydrocyanic acid, which can not only be poisoned, but even die. As for sweet nuts, their use should also be limited, because nuts are heavy food, and the gastrointestinal tract can not cope with such a load. In addition, they are very caloric: 640 kcal per 100 grams. Therefore, anyone who follows his figure, is not recommended to eat more than ten nuts a day.

You can eat almonds as a separate dish or snack or add to confectionery, pastries, salads or cereals. A place of honor is given to almonds in Indonesian and Chinese cuisine, where nuts and dried fruits are added to almost every dish. It is very useful to eat almonds in the morning with oatmeal in milk and a spoonful of honey. By the way, the combination of honey-almond-milk is a real healing and energetic elixir that will help to recover after hard work and will give strength for new achievements.
