Alexander Yanvarev - biography and creativity

In the Soviet cinema there were many actors who, for the most part, played the supporting roles, but at the same time they were remembered by a wide audience. Alexander Yanvarev just refers to such movie actors. His face is known to almost every inhabitant of our country and the post-Soviet space, but few know him by name.

History of the actor's surname

Around the name of Alexander goes a lot of rumors. The most common information is that this name was given by employees of the orphanage. Allegedly in January they were found on the threshold of a baby. But this is just a myth, which appeared because of an unusual surname.
Alexander Yanvarev was born in Moscow in 1940, on October 23rd. His family was happy and amicable. Several generations of the ancestors of the Soviet actor were icon painters, and the beginning of the name was given by great-grandfather Januarius.
Several years ago, in support of the fact that Alexander Yanvarev was never a foundling, the relatives of the actor disclosed information about the graves of the actor's parents. They rest in Moscow at the Kuzminsky cemetery.

Teaching acting skills

At the age of 26, Alexander Janvarev completed his studies at one of the country's most famous acting institutes - VGIK. It is interesting that the constant curator did not have a course. For the years of training, Alexander has been replaced by three mentors:
• Yuri Pobedonostsev;
• Jacob Segel;
• Boris Babochkin.
Actress Tamara Sovchy in one of her interviews noted that no one from the course had a destiny. Some of the actors worked after the release in the Taganka Theater, and the rest were scattered around the world. None of Alexander's classmates became really popular.

The most memorable roles

Alexander Yanvarev - an actor who very quickly found his role. Despite the fact that in life he was a very gentle person, the directors revealed him, first of all, as a negative character. During his career, this actor played a lot of vile people, liars and hooligans. Most of the audience remembered the role of Alexander in the movie "Two tickets for the afternoon session." There he played Sirotin and did it so that the whole country believed in the depravity of this man.
Many began to recognize Alexander in person after the film "The Children in the Universe", where he played the role of Pashka's brother. People born in the late eighties can remember such a character, since this film was broadcasted before the beginning of the two thousandths on the main channels of public television. To small, but memorable roles can be attributed and played by Alexander the designer from "Do not go get the girls married."
Alexander Yanvarev specially marked the films "Belorussky Railway Station" and "There is no way back". In the latter, he played the role of Gonto, which, according to the actor, was the most successful in his career. He compared this character to Prince Myshkin from the work "Idiot" by Dostoevsky. Myshkin himself did not manage to play Alexander, although to this role he sought all his career.
For 27 years in the cinema Alexander took part in 69 paintings. He himself admitted that over the years of work it was not possible to play only a feature. In his track record there are criminals, and terrorists, and militiamen.

The last years of Alexander Janvarev's life

In the early nineties in Russia began to produce other films. Instead of patriotic paintings began to shoot insurgents about bandits. Alexander called them vulgar hooligans and at the stage of familiarizing himself with the script he refused to play roles in the cinema of modern times. He was not forgotten and for a long time offered roles, but the actor was adamant - he could not cross himself.
At this time Alexander Janvarev, whose personal life always remained in the shadows, became addicted to alcohol. He was drawn to the stage, but he made himself unsuitable for shooting. The first few years the actor was still engaged in scripting scenarios and felt more or less in demand, and then the Hollywood films and the name of Alexander Yanvarev were completely forgotten by the Russian audience.
The actor himself said that life itself had prepared for him a dramatic role, although in the movie he never waited that way. His last years Alexander lived, like many other Soviet actors, with a small pension and a complete lack of savings for a decent life. From a brilliant career, only pride and self-pity remained . Alexander Ivanovich lived to be 64 years old. He died in Moscow on February 11, 2005.
