October 8, 1946 was born future figure skating star - Alexander Gorshkov. Moscow is his hometown. The boy stepped on his skates and began active training at the age of six. The child had to be torn between the secondary school and the figure skating school. After graduating from an educational institution, he enters the Institute of Physical Culture. It happened in 1964. In 1970, Alexander successfully graduated from the educational institution, in which he continued reinforced training to improve the figurative skills.

Biography: Alexander Gorshkov and his first steps in sport

When Sasha was six years old, his mother Maria Sergeyevna in conversation with the mother of her classmate found out that in Sokolniki there was going to be a set of skating school. It was at that moment that the idea arose to give the child to the sport. Both mothers became friends with each other, in one day they took the boys by the hand and took them to the school for beginners. The first months of his stay at the school were spent in difficult conditions. He practically did not get anything, and he was immediately recorded in the ranks of the underachievers. The school was divided into levels, and Sasha got to the class at a more primitive level.

Alexander's mother did not agree with this state of affairs and was not going to put up. Once Maria Sergeyevna took her child by the hand and forcibly brought him to an advanced group. By a lucky chance at that time in the group was a new coach who was not familiar with the whole composition. The teacher decided that Sasha was ill for a long time, so he did not see him in the ranks of the students. So Alexander Gorshkov remained in the group of a higher level, and, as it turns out, not in vain. It was here that he became acquainted with his future partner Lyudmila Pakhomova.

A special role in the life of the beginning figure skater was played by coach Elena Chaykovskaya. After all, it was she who examined the two young men of the future champions. In general, the couple constantly had to prove their primacy not only in the fight against German athletes. In 1976, the couple had to debut at the Olympic Games in Innsbruck. However, shortly before this event, Alexander Gorshkov suffered a serious operation on the lungs. In 1985, Mila celebrated her last birthday. In general, the last six months she spent in the hospital, and to engage intensively on the ice she simply did not have physical strength.
