Akhtanizovsky estuary - a trip to the Valley of the lotuses

Situated in the north of the Taman peninsula, the Akhtanizovsky estuary is considered the largest freshwater body in the Krasnodar Territory. Today, it is divided into two unequal parts, which are divided by a dam. As experts say, about 200 years ago it was a saline closed lake. Akhtanizovsky estuary was connected to the Sea of Azov by the Peresypsky Gir. However, in 1819 the inhabitants of Starotitarovskaya and Temryukskaya stanitsas connected it with the sleeve of the Kuban with the purpose of desalination.

general information

Since that time, part of the river flow comes through the Cossack Eric in the Akhtanizovsky estuary. To date, it consists of two unequal water areas, separated by a dam. They are called Small and Big Akhtanizovsky estuaries. The first is a closed reservoir, which is several times smaller in area. Small Akhtanizovsky estuary and in terms of recreation is of much less interest.

The area of the Great Water Area is about one hundred thousand square meters with a maximum depth of one hundred and eighty centimeters.

From the south the reservoir is protected by the Starotitarovskaya Upland, rugged by numerous ravines and beams. In the west rises the mountain Borisoglebskaya. Directly by the water is the same name of the village - Akhtanizovskaya. Liman in the northern part has a fairly high shore. Mirror smoothness of the lake from a solid land separates the reed thickets.

Inhabitants of the reservoir

Akhtanizovsky estuary is a fairly rich reservoir. In it there are catfish and asp, pike, pike perch, tench and perch, crucian, bream, carp. There are also ram, thick carb, crochet and rudd. Akhtanizovsky estuary is a place of constant wintering and dwelling of many water birds. Hunting for them, as a rule, opens from the third Saturday of September and ends on the twentieth of January. The greatest interest from waterfowl species is primarily the coot, which is quite a lot here. Quite a lot in the estuary and ducks, mostly mallards.

Judging by the reviews, the most exciting hunting here begins in November, when the colds survive birds from the northern regions and they begin to gather here for wintering. On windy days, prey on the estuary is quite rich. Ducks come across almost the whole day. For hunting, you need a boat and stuffed animals, as well as means of camouflage.

It is interesting

In the eighties of the last century Taman was trying to plant a lotus. This exotic flower is well established not everywhere. The only place for the germination of the lotus was the Akhtanizovsky estuary. The photo of the pond from the middle of July until the end of September is simply amazing. Here a real plantation of this flower was formed. Today the Lotus Valley has become a favorite tourist destination.

On the Akhtanizovsky estuary, there are lotuses of all colors of the rainbow: here you can find blue and pink, yellow and red, and finally the most beautiful - Indian lotuses. The water temperature warms up to a maximum of twenty-nine degrees - optimal for an exotic culture. And although such a regime remains on the entire body of water, a lotus grows only two square kilometers.

It is strictly forbidden to tear these amazing flowers. They are listed in the regional Red Book. Moreover, the torn plant does not live very long, so it should not be spoiled. According to the belief, if you whisper in the lotus name of a loved one, then love will always bloom. Get to the part of the estuary, where the excursions begin, through the Cossack Yerik, located near the village of Strelka.

Fishing

Catching on this pond, judging by the reviews, is almost always successful. The fish here are very tasty, and as the lime is flowing, it does not smell of it. On the lake itself there is practically no place for fishing directly from the shore. Therefore, fishermen require a boat, although as an alternative you can choose for fishing channel that flows into the Small Akhtanizovsky estuary.

Fishing on the water is always very popular. Here it is possible to meet with a fishing-rod not only local campers, but also fans of this pastime from other nearby villages. Here come even from Anapa and Temryuk.

On the right bait you can catch the pilengas, in some areas, fire pike perch, especially if there is an echo sounder. Judging by the reviews, some managed to pull out a good pike in the winter.
