Actress Svetlana Karpinskaya: Filmography, biography and personal life

Svetlana Karpinskaya, whose filmography shows us how selectively and carefully the actress approaches her work, has not played too many roles in the cinema. But each of them was lived by her, carried through the soul and heart. That is why the images in her performance always turn out to be bright and unforgettable.

Childhood

Svetlana Karpinskaya was born in Leningrad. Date of birth: September 16, 1937. Her parents were teachers. Relatives of his father, Alexei Blagoveshchensky, belonged to the church estate. In the thirties, they fell under the repressions, and they were shot. After these tragic events, his father changed his name and became, thus, Karpinsky. The family lived in a communal flat on Vasilievsky Island. Parents tried to give their daughter a good education and paid much attention to the education of the right taste, both materially and spiritually. After the war, Svetlana was engaged in amateur performances, participated in various cultural events. When she was 16 years old, at one of the concerts the famous V. Shostak drew attention to the girl. Suddenly, she gets an offer from him to play one of the main roles in his play "Factory Girl". Svetlana liked being an actress, but she did not leave her dream of becoming a journalist. Therefore, after graduation, she enters the faculty of the Leningrad University.

The first appearance in the cinema

Svetlana did not aspire to the cinema, regularly studying at the university. But here His Majesty the case intervened. When Eldar Ryazanov was preparing to shoot the comedy "The Girl Without an Address", he was for some reason dissatisfied with the actress, who had already been approved for the main role. Casually seeing Svetlana, he suggests that she star in the role of Katya Ivanova. Either Ryazanov was so sure that Svetlana Karpinskaya is ideally suited for the role, or that the person previously approved by him was not so happy with it, but the young Sveta, who never took part in the movie, did not even sample. Whatever it was, the great Eldar Ryazanov was not mistaken in the choice. The premiere of the painting "The Girl Without an Address" immediately made Karpinskaya a celebrity. Her heroine Katya Ivanova - "a girl without an address, but with a character" - fell in love with millions of moviegoers. It should be noted that in the picture the artist not only coped well with the performance of the main role, but also showed herself as a wonderful vocalist. In her performance, the Countess's aria, "Song of Moscow", and the song "I lived a girl, did not know the worries" sounded in the film.

An actress or a journalist?

Karpinskaya Svetlana Alekseevna, whose filmography began with such a stunning success in the role of Katya Ivanova, after the premiere of "Girls without an address" finally made sure that she must devote herself to acting.

She left the university and immediately became a third-year student of the Leningrad State Institute of Theater, Music and Cinematography. In one of the interviews Karpinskaya told that one of the representatives of the Mosfilm bosses suggested moving to a permanent place of residence in the capital, promising to provide apartments and roles. It was difficult for her to believe such loud promises, and she did not want to leave Leningrad.

The beginning of the sixties was marked by another major role. Svetlana Karpinskaya played Claudia in the movie "Business Trip". In the following years, several more films with the participation of this remarkable actress appeared on the screen: "Eccentrics", "Prince Prosh", "Lost among the living", "Habitat".

But there could be more roles ...

However, the roles could be even greater. Actress Svetlana Karpinskaya received many proposals from the most famous directors. But she did not always accept these proposals. "A girl with a character" in a very detailed and demanding manner studied the roles she offered. There were also personal reasons. The first husband of Karpinsky, also a representative of the acting profession, was very negative about his wife's success in cinema. It's hard to say what was the reason. Perhaps, envy or banal reluctance that his woman was prosperous. Their marriage lasted five years, after which Svetlana Karpinskaya herself left her husband.

Another reason - the unwillingness of the actress to pass screen tests. The fact is that in 1970 Karpinskaya was invited to test one of the key heroines for the film "Salute, Maria!". She coped well, having played well the given segment of the role. But it turned out that even before the trials for the role, another actress was approved. After this unpleasant incident she avoided going to screen tests.

A girl with a character

As Svetlana Karpinskaya herself admits, films and roles leave a different mark on the soul. Her favorite works are the role in the drama "For the rest of my life" and the melodrama "Sweet Woman". One of the most high-profile and large-scale works of Svetlana Karpinskaya in the cinema was the role of Vera Khomyakova in the film "The Third Double" directed by L. Tsutsulkovskiy (1992).

There were several roles that Karpinskaya did not want to play herself. So, for example, after receiving an offer to star in Sokurov's Taurus (2001) as the sister of the leader Maria Ilinichna, she was afraid to appear ugly in the frame and therefore refused.

Svetlana Karpinskaya: personal life

About the first, not too successful marriage of the actress has already been said. Acquaintance with the second spouse, Gennady Voropaev, happened, even when Svetlana was married. They were both engaged in the play "Shadow", where Karpinsky played the role of Princess, and Voropayev - the role of the Scientist.

As the actress admitted herself, there was a mutual passion between them, they parted many times and again converged. They had a common daughter, Catherine. Unfortunately, Gennady Ivanovich is no longer alive.

Svetlana Karpinskaya has two grandsons, Alexei and Mikhail.

Work in the theater

The low employment in the film allows Svetlana Alekseevna to play a lot in the theater. In the Comedy Theater, where she came in 1974, Karpinskaya successfully played a lot of different roles. These are works in the plays of Peter Fomenko (Les, This Sweet, the Old House), Roman Viktyuk (The Flatterer), Yuri Aksenov (Twelfth Night, The Blue Sky, and the Clouds in It). For twenty years S. Karpinskaya played in the famous performance "Accelerates". But the most successful was the role of the Princess in that fateful play "Shadow", where she played with her husband G. Voropaev.

For some time, Svetlana worked in the BDT, where she personally called Tovstonogov. The famous theater met the actress perfectly, there were many roles. But four years later, Karpinskaya returned to her native St. Petersburg comedy theater. Akimova, where she works to this day. It was here that she became a well-deserved artist of the Russian Federation.

Possessing an extraordinary talent, a bright individuality, a contagious stage temperament, musicality, the highest professionalism and efficiency, Svetlana Alekseevna ensured herself a great demand in the theater. She perfectly succeeds in a variety of characters: both acute, lyrical, and grotesque.
