Biographical information

Gritsenko Nikolai Olimpievich (actor) was born at the station Yasinovatoy (Donetsk region, Ukraine). It happened on July 24, 1912. Nikolai's father worked in the mine. About the time when the future student was in school, little is known. By diligence in his studies he did not differ and the hassle of his teachers delivered a lot. But young Nicholas could write on the run the most truthful fiction, and even such that the teachers were simply torn with laughter and they forgave him all the pranks. Since childhood, the young man was able in a few seconds to reincarnate in any image. And this talent, he will develop in a few decades.

Already at 19, the young man became a graduate of the Dnepropetrovsk Transport Polytechnic, after which he settled down to work at Mushketovo Station as a technician-tenant, and then transferred to Yasinovaty, where he held the post of technician and caretaker of buildings.

In the first half of the 30s, Nikolai Olimpievich Gritsenko worked at the Makeevka Metallurgical Plant "Steel" (designer of the technical department).

Learning acting skills

Interest in the art of acting was woken up by Nicholas when he turned twenty. At first he will become a graduate of the musical and dramatic worker's faculty in Makeyevka, then he will go to the dramatic technical school in Kiev. But this is not all educational institutions in which Nikolai Olimpievich Gritsenko will learn the basics of acting. In 1935, he entered the school at the Moscow Art Theater-2, and then became a student at the theatrical school under the CTC. But it should be noted that members of the admission committee in the capital were not favorable to the young man, openly hinting to him that he would do much more good at the plant than in the walls of the Melpomene temple. And yet, Nikolai Gritsenko, whose biography is of interest to cinematographers of the Soviet period, did not just give up. He successfully passed the exams in the "Shchukin" school and, having graduated from this theatrical high school in 1940, enters the troupe of the theater named after Vakhtangov.

But soon Hitler attacks the USSR, and the novice actor goes to Arkhangelsk, where he learns the basics of military affairs on commander's courses.

First roles in the cinema

In 1942 the first film with Gritsenko's participation was released. The actor was approved for an episodic role in the melodrama "Mashenka" (directed by Yu. Raizman). In the film, he toasts in honor of Masha Stepanova. The biography of the actor Nikolai O. Hrytsenko is interesting already because he starred in 47 films, most of which became part of the "golden fund" of Soviet cinema. However, his second role was given only four years after the debut. In the "Old Vaudeville" (directed by I. Savchenko, 1946), Nikolai Olimpievich is confirmed for the main role of hussar Anton Fadeyev. Then there was another success in the movie. Back in 1954 he played on the same stage with the coryphaees of the national cinema: Alla Tarasova, Mikhail Yanshin and Alexei Gribov. The film, in which Gritsenko will act as a manager, is called "The Swedish match" (directed by K. Yudin).

And, of course, we can not fail to note the brilliant work of the maestro in the historical drama "The Walking by Flour" (directed by G. Roshal, 1957). In it, Gritsenko Nikolai Olimpievich appears in the image of Vadim Petrovich Roshchin.

And this is only a small part of what the actor played on the set. He was called an "ordinary genius". Nikolay Gritsenko - the actor - was not that. His talent was just extraordinary. Working as a director

On the stage of his native Vakhtangov Theater, the maestro tried his hand at the filmmaking as a director. Together with his colleagues - Vladimir Shlesinger and Dina Andreyeva - in 1956, the lyceum staged the play "The Sixth Floor". In terms of genre, it can be attributed to melodrama.

It is noteworthy that when rehearsing this production, one of the actors could not convey the character of the hero, who was a cute Frenchman. And then Nikolai Olimpievich himself came on the scene and showed a "master class" on how to play a resident of the country, which is a trendsetter.

However, theater critics were not enthusiastic about the performance "The Sixth Floor". First of all, he did not like his plot, they say, why watch out for the life of a little man who was brought up according to the laws of capitalist society.

Work in the theater

The performances, in which Nikolay Gritsenko was involved, for a long time appeared in the repertoire, as the theatrical spectator walked precisely on them. His perfected roles and years later did not lose their brightness and filigree. Especially memorable was the work of Nikolai Olimpievich in the play "On Every Wise Man of rather Simplicity" (directed by A. Remizov, 1968). He was able to demonstrate the full potential of extraordinary acting techniques and adaptations, and, without completely eclipsing the game of other litsedeyev. Gritsenko appeared before the viewer in the image of a wealthy gentleman in years who in every possible way resisted the abolition of serfdom.

In the early 70's, the maestro was involved in the production of R. Simonov's The Man with a Gun. Nikolai Olimpievich played in it the image of a soldier who possessed not only a sense of humor, but also savvy. In the play "Woman behind the Green Door" Gritsenko was approved for the role of ex-chief Dashdamirov.

He had a hard time surviving the death of his teacher Ruben Simonov, who died in the winter of 1968.

After that, Nikolai Olimpievich will say that the theater was orphaned without Simonov. The performances, in which Gritsenko took part, were gradually ousted from the repertoire, the work in the theater became less and less. Yes, and age significantly narrowed the number of roles.

last years of life

At the end of life, the actor was experiencing serious health problems. He developed a vascular disease, Nikolai Olimpievich began to stifle the pain with alcoholic beverages, which further undermined his health. The actor began to develop sclerosis, and he read the phrases from "Seventeen Moments of Spring" from cheat sheets. Soon he had problems with the nervous system. Periodically, the actor had seizures. The wife of the actor was forced to put Nikolai Olimpievich in a clinic for the mentally ill. Unfortunately, practically no one had seen Gritsenko in the hospital, he was left alone with his disease. He was all left. Once neighbors in the ward accused the great actor of stealing food from them. From such accusations the heart of Nicholas Olimpievich could not stand ... He died on December 8, 1979. Today, very few people remember this man, and yet Gritsenko can rightly be considered the greatest face of the twentieth century.
