Activate the network bridge

Hello, dear users. Let's now consider together with you two options when using a network bridge. Both of them were tested at home. In the first variant we take as an example two stationary computers, one laptop, and also a cable modem.

In addition to this list, we will add two wireless network adapters, as well as two ISI adapters. They will be required in order to create a network using an electrical network. Our goal with you is to combine all of the above into one network, as well as to ensure its connection to the Internet.

Now, as for the second case. Let's take a network of several computers that are interconnected by a Broadband router that provides access to the Internet, as well as a laptop that lacks an adapter. To this, add a couple of wireless network cards that connect via the USB port. Here, our goal will be to connect the laptop to this network, and also provide it with Internet access. A network bridge will also be used here. Windows XP is installed on all devices in each case.

So, as for the first option, then the cable modem is connected directly to the network adapter of the device. Connection to the Internet is done without dialing, but using DHCP. I created a shared connection for this connection. As a second network device on the same computer, I installed a wireless adapter. When the Internet was created for the second device (it is a wireless adapter), the system automatically assigned an IP address for it. It was this: 192.168.0.1, and the subnet mask, respectively, 255.255.255.0. Also, I personally determined the addresses for the DNS servers of my ISP.

Then I connected the second computer to the homeplug using the network card. But the homeplug was properly connected to the mains. To this device I defined an IP address, the same as for the previous one, but at the end instead of one I assigned a triple. The gateway address was similar to the IP address assigned to the router. The same was the DNS-server.

The laptop connected through the network adapter to the home board, as well as to the wireless USB adapter. Next for these two devices, we need to create a network bridge. This is done to ensure that each of the three computers is connected to a common network for them.

Since the network bridge assumes, at least, two separate cards, we need to go into network connections, where you need to designate both your device and the device. After that, right-click on the mouse to open the context menu. Among all the options, you need to activate the network bridge function.

Next, in our window, a new third connection will be displayed. It also needs to specify the parameters of the shared network. I assign the IP address, as with the first router, only a unit at the end I change to a five.

The gateway address with the DNS is the same as the address of the first device. It's all. Now our communication hybrid will work. The Windows 7 network bridge is configured the same way. I hope you understand for yourself, by what principle the entire system works, and also understood how to set it up.
