Many modern programs, which work in elementary school, imply that a child who has come to first grade should already be able to read. Therefore, many parents, only their child reaches preschool age, are asked: how to teach a child to read by syllables?

There are many opinions, as well as methods. Some assign this mission to educators and educators in kindergarten or development centers, while others take everything into their own hands. And here it is important not to allow a few mistakes, which later will cause serious difficulties in teaching children.

The first of these is rush. Most of the children at 3-4 years of age are not yet physically ready for training. And no matter how much the parents would like the child to start reading much earlier than peers, if it does not show any interest to it, it should not be insisted. Another thing is the age of 5-6 years, when children are already beginning to prepare for school, they have arbitrary attention.

However, considering the question of how to teach a child to read through syllables, one must remember about another common mistake. You can not force children to do things that are not interesting to them. At this age, the leading activity of the baby is the game, respectively, it is so much easier to introduce it to letters, focusing, first of all, on his interest.

First, the child gets acquainted with the vowels A, O, U, and, then proceeds to the consonants. By traditional methods, and in most other modern ones, they start with sonorous M, L, R, which are easier to perceive. They call the baby sounds, but in no case are the names of the letters, for example, M is "m", not "em" and even more so "me". Knowing how to teach a child to read by syllables, parents can teach children themselves, which can be a good preparation for school.

At each lesson it is necessary to constantly repeat the material that has already been traced, fixing it. Thus, the right reading skill will be developed faster.

After the first letters are studied, they gradually add up into simple syllables of MA, LU, RA. Here the children are shown that both sounds "strive" for each other, from that they are pronounced inseparably, together. When we teach to read by syllables, first of all it is necessary to explain the algorithm of folding letters. At this stage, it is worthwhile to stay longer. Gradually move on to more complex syllables, starting with a vowel or consisting of three letters. And only after this skill is well mastered, the first simple words are given.

It is very important to monitor the pronunciation of the baby. Some educators and parents make singing syllables and words, because it is so much easier. It is worth paying attention to the pauses between words, as some children forget about them. It is not necessary to insist on the expressiveness and fluency of reading at the beginning of the training, but it is necessary to make stops after reading the word. Over time, the child must learn to understand what is written.

Quite often, parents are interested in how to teach a child to read by syllables, using Zaitsev's technique. Its difference from traditional teaching is that initially children get acquainted with syllables (warehouses), not letters, gradually adding words from them. Special cubes are used for this. Some parents can, if desired, independently make such cards, on which to put syllables. Here the child himself must, in time, draw attention to the fact that they are formed from two sounds.

It is not necessary at the initial stage to give a classification of sounds (vowels, consonants, etc.). The child is still difficult to understand this, and the quality of reading does not affect these concepts. If suddenly the kid himself noticed that there are similar sounds (for example, some are sung - vowels, others are not - consonants), you can casually mention this, but too deep is not recommended.

Before you teach a child to read by syllables, you need to be patient and persevering. Any achievements of the baby, even seemingly insignificant, must definitely be seen and encouraged, and for blunders should not be scolded.
