Zhukov Vladimir: biography and military way

Zhukov Vladimir is one of the heroes of the Great Patriotic War, which is still remembered. The namesake of the famous commander passed the battle route from Rostov to Berlin. On his tank, he crossed the Dnieper and the Oder, liberated the Donbass and Poland, fought under Kursk and in Pomerania. Now the image of Zhukov is set as an example to the younger generation. And the memory of the major is immortalized in poems and toponyms.

Zhukov Vladimir: Biography

He was born in Kagalnitsky district near Rostov in 1922. His family was an ordinary peasant and lived in a small village of Vasilyevo-Shamshevo. From a small age, he worked hard helping the family around the house. At the age of eighteen, he is called into the ranks of the Red Army for military service. They are sent to the town of Orel to listen to the courses in the armored school. The war begins next year. The Soviet army is critically lacking qualified personnel. First of all, this is the officers and representatives of specific military specialties. Zhukov Vladimir is undergoing an accelerated training course and is already going to the front in the autumn of the same year.

The Great Patriotic War

Vladimir Zhukov received baptism of fire on the territory of the Byelorussian SSR. There the Nazis inflicted the most severe blow. In a swampy terrain, Soviet tankmen had to confront the German mechanized brigades prepared and tempered in the fighting in Poland. After retreat, Zhukov's team began to re-form in the suburbs. The soldiers received new tanks made at the Stalingrad plant.

Zhukov Vladimir takes part in defensive battles near Orel, where he previously served. The division under the command of Katukov here takes a fight from one of the best generals of Hitler - Heinz Guderian. To contain the superior forces of the enemy, Red Army soldiers resort to the tactics of tank ambushes in small settlements.

In the cold autumn of 1941, a fierce battle erupted under Orel. Both sides regularly retreat and counterattack. The tank brigade Zhukov succeeded in dropping the Eberbach shock group several times over the river, thereby delaying the offensive for a week. The team demonstrated itself from the best side. Quite quickly, the successes of Katukov's wards in battle against the genius of German tank tactics Guderian became known in Moscow. At this time, the capital itself was in danger. On Stalin's personal order, the first Guards Tank Division was transferred to Moscow. Tankmen restrain the offensive of German troops and then even conduct several counteroffensive. Zhukov Vladimir fights in one sector of the front with the famous "panfilovtsami." As a result of the twelfth of November the Red Army begins a decisive attack and presses the Germans from the capital. The decisive role in the encirclement and defeat was played by the Katukov tank brigade. For this she was awarded the honorary title of "Guards". But the fighting for Moscow lasted another six months.

The defense of Kharkov

After the battle for Moscow Zhukov Vladimir sent to the Kalinin Front. The hardest battles for Kharkov continue there. The winter of 1942 was very harsh. The crew of the tank worked at the limit of possibilities. Due to constant raids of enemy aviation and bad weather, ammunition and provisions were not brought in time. There were problems with medicines. After the bloody battles Kharkov still fell.

Officer Zhukov Vladimir becomes commander of a tank battalion. He took part in the biggest battle in the history of mankind - the Battle of the Kursk Bulge. The guardsmen advanced on the Oboyan direction. Face to face faced with the elite German Panzer Corps SS. After fierce battles, Soviet troops won a victory that changed the course of the war.

End of the Battle Route

Zhukov Vladimir and his brigade went through the whole war. The tank guardsmen always moved to the hottest points. The high rate always counted on them, so the fighters did not even have a few weeks of rest. After the victory at Kursk, the Soviet tanks of the first brigade liberated Kiev and forced the Dnieper. Then Lviv was liberated by their efforts. In the spring of 1945 the Red Army invaded Pomerania. The end of the military way is waiting in Berlin. Here, during the battle for the airport, Zhukov Vladimir was killed. Hero of the Soviet Union posthumously, he is buried in a mass grave in Germany.
